Data notes

• Sources: Korea Ministry of the Interior and Safety local licensing data (one dataset per business type) and the Korean National Pension Service workplace dataset, both published on the Korean government open data portal (data.go.kr) under an unrestricted-use license.
• Freshness: licensing data is refreshed daily and reflects records up to about 2 days ago. New-employer data is refreshed monthly and runs about 1–2 months behind; when you leave openedAfter empty, new employers from the latest available month are returned.
• Future dates: some licences are dated a few days ahead of the actual opening. They are included by default.
• Business names are returned as registered (in Korean). When a sole proprietor's business name contains a personal name, the name part is masked (○○○).
• Masked addresses: for online sellers, the source masks building numbers (***). We return them as published.
• Employees is only available for new employers (national pension enrollees).
• No contact data: this Actor does not return phone numbers or emails.
• Not official statistics: intended for business lookup and prospecting.

• Korean National Pension Service – workplace dataset (data.go.kr 15083277) for new employers. Refreshed monthly (1–2 months behind).
• License: unrestricted use, including commercial use (Korea Public Data Portal).
• Every row includes source (with the dataset ID) and asOf.

FAQ

Can I search in English? Yes. Province and city filters accept English (e.g. Busan, Haeundae-gu). Korean also works for city.

How far back can I go? Up to 365 days. The default is the last 30 days.

Why do some runs take a minute? Licensing data is fetched live from the government source so it is always current. Setting a city or district (e.g. Bundang, 해운대) filters at the source and is the fastest way to run. Typical times: one district a few seconds to a minute; a whole country with all types and 200+ results can take around 5 minutes.
