Coverage and freshness
The actor reads the Kentucky Secretary of State public UCC index search. It covers initial UCC-1 financing statements and the amendment, continuation, assignment, correction and termination actions published in each filing chain. observed_at records when the row was collected. data_as_of records the date the state says its index is current through.
The state publishes both standard and non-standard name matches. Standard matches are the closest name results and are ranked first. Non-standard matches are broader and are returned newest first. The public search returns at most 401 non-standard rows per name, so a very common name can exceed what the free index exposes. Narrow the name or add a filing date window when that happens.
The actor scans the newest unique matching filings first and applies filters before any record is billed. With narrow filters it may inspect more rows than it returns so that it can fill the requested result count.
Kentucky does not publish debtor phone numbers, email addresses, officer names or a county name in the free index. Filing numbers carry a county code, not a county label. The public index is not a certified search and it is not a legal opinion. The actor links the public filing documents but does not extract their text or byte size. Secured party names can be used as a filter, but the state does not expose a secured-party search, so the actor must search a debtor name or file number first.

FAQ
Can I search by filing number?
Yes. Add one or more exact Kentucky file numbers in YYYY-NNNNNNN-CC form. Digits only is also accepted.
Can I search individual debtors?
Yes. Use Last, First Middle Suffix for the best match. A bare last name returns the broader set.
Does it include amendments and terminations?
Yes. The default includes the full chain. Each record carries has_amendment, has_continuation, has_termination and the complete action list, so you can filter downstream. Turn amendments or continuations off when you need pure initial statements.
How is the lien status determined?
A chain is terminated when an effective termination action is present. Otherwise it is lapsed when the lapse date has passed and active when it has not. Rejected actions do not change the status.
Can I find every filing from a specific lender?
The state does not publish a secured-party search. Search a debtor name or filing number, then use securedPartyNames to keep only the filings whose secured party matches the lender you are watching.
Is this a certified UCC search?
No. It returns public records for research and workflow automation. It is not a certified UCC search and it is not a legal opinion.
What happens when there is no match?
The actor returns one uncharged error record with error, state, source and observed_at. You are not charged for an empty run.
