Refine the search for Hotels

Closed

Hi - newbie question - is there a way to refine the search to only include Hotels that have a "subcategories/0" field = Hotel? My search is including all sorts of things like B&Bs (searching in Ireland). Only about 30% of my returned results are Hotels. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for opening this issue!

Yes, indeed! Simply enable the includeHotels option and disable the ones for the other place types :) See the attached screenshot.

I hope this helps, thanks and happy scraping!

Hi Lukáš! Thanks for the quick response. The problem is that, even within the type 'Hotels' there is a sub-category (subcategories/0) and I want to filter my search to only look at hotels with a sub-category of Hotels. The attached screenshot of my excel output might make it clearer. In Ireland, there are thousands of Bed and Breakfast businesses which are not really hotels (they are typically guest houses with maybe 3 or 4 rooms in a family home). I don't want to include them in my search. Is it possible to filter by this sub-category pre-search? Thanks!

I see, there seems to be a filter for this kind of sub-categories straight on the TripAdvisor website. Unfortunately, we don't support these filters on the scraper at the moment, so we will have to implement them first.

I will keep you updated here about the progress on it, thanks!

Thanks again Lukáš. That would be super if you could add the ability to filter by that sub-category.
