What does App Store Keyword Rank Tracker do?
It runs your keywords through the App Store search of each country you choose and returns, for every keyword and country:
- The rank of your apps (by App Store ID or bundle ID), or
nullwhen they are not in the results - The top competitors: name, developer, average rating, rating count, price, genre, last update date
- Difficulty signals: average rating count and average rating of the top 10, and the number one result
Typical uses: weekly ASO rank tracking for your apps, checking a keyword before you put it in your title, subtitle or keyword field, and comparing your position across storefronts (us, gb, de, fr, jp...) after a localization.
How does it work?
It reads Apple's public iTunes Search API (itunes.apple.com/search). No Apple account, no login, no scraping of private pages. The order of these results closely follows App Store search but can differ from what a given iPhone shows (personalization, Search Ads at the top are not included). Use it for trends and comparisons, not as a screenshot of one device.
How much does it cost?
Pay per event: one event per keyword x country search that returns a result row. Searches that fail (rate limit after retries) are returned with an error field and are not charged. Use Max searches as a hard spending cap.
Input example
{ "keywords": ["habit tracker", "budget planner"], "countries": ["us", "gb", "de"], "trackApps": ["com.example.habits", "1234567890"], "topResults": 10 }
Output example
{ "keyword": "habit tracker", "country": "us", "resultsCount": 200, "trackedApps": [{ "app": "1234567890", "rank": 37, "name": "My Habits" }], "topAvgRatingCount": 48211, "topAvgRating": 4.71, "top1": "Habitify (Unstatic Ltd Co)", "results": [{ "rank": 1, "appId": 1111447047, "name": "Habitify", "ratingCount": 9000 }] }
Tips
- Schedule it daily or weekly and compare runs to see rank changes.
- Searches are spaced out to respect Apple's rate limit: about 35 searches per minute.
- Issues and feature requests in the Issues tab are answered quickly.
