💰 Pricing

EventPrice (USD)When it is charged
Actor Start (apify-actor-start)$0.00005Charged when the Actor starts running. Number of events charged depends on Actor memory (one event per GB, minimum one event).
Portfolio company (apify-default-dataset-item)$0.1Charged per Sequoia portfolio company with name, sector, stage, year, partner, founder, website, status, geography.

Pay-per-event: you pay only for what the run delivers. A run that delivers nothing bills no result events (only the actor-start event, when the actor defines one). Example: a run that delivers 100 results costs 100 × $0.1 = $10.00 plus the start fee.

Every IP registry actor is a monitoring subscription, not a one-shot lookup. Schedule a weekly sweep and catch new filings as they land:

{
"query": "Sequoia",
"limit": 100
}

Weekly cron (0 8 * * 1) turns this into an always-on portfolio watch.

📊 What you get

Clean JSON, one record per company (full output has 23 fields):

  • acquired_year — Acquired year
  • description — Description
  • founded_year — Founded year
  • founders — Founders
  • geography — Geography
  • ipo_year — Ipo year
  • linkedin_url — Linkedin url
  • name — Name
  • partner — Partner
  • partnered_year — Partnered year

Pricing: $0.10 per company (Pay-Per-Event) — about 10 companies per $1. Cut from $0.50–0.75 for directory-class parity.

🤖 Use with AI agents

Point Claude, the OpenAI Agents SDK, an n8n flow or any MCP-aware client at it and run Sequoia portfolio company data on demand.

Sample agent prompt:

List Sequoia portfolio companies with founders and IPO/exit years.

Agentic payments (x402): Supports agentic payment via x402 — agents can call this actor with USDC, no API key required.

Run it on a schedule

A venture portfolio changes slowly, so a weekly run is a sensible cadence. Sequoia and Peak XV add new companies after new deals, and existing companies change status when they are acquired or go public. Between runs you will see new company rows and updated values such as status, acquired_year and ipo_year. The actor has no built-in new-only mode; for alerts on additions and exits, pair it with VC Portfolio Change Monitor, or compare runs by slug. Send each run's results onward with a webhook, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or the Apify API.

FAQ

Why use this instead of the Sequoia and Peak XV websites?

The portfolio pages are free to browse, but they are built for reading one company at a time. This actor turns them into clean JSON, one row per company, with name, website, description, sectors, founded and partnered years, partner, founders, status and geography. It combines Sequoia Capital (US) and Peak XV Partners (India and Southeast Asia) in one run, lets you filter by sector, status and partnered year, and can run on a schedule. No API key is needed.

What does a typical run cost?

You pay per result, not for run time: $0.10 for each row in the results, plus $0.00005 per run start (charged per GB of run memory, minimum one). A run that returns 25 portfolio companies costs about $2.50. Live prices are always shown in the Pricing tab.

How do I get a list of every Sequoia portfolio company?

Set geographyFilter to Global and raise maxResults (default 100, up to 1000). The combined catalog holds about 710 companies: about 406 from Sequoia Capital and about 304 from Peak XV. Set geographyFilter to US for Sequoia only, or India or SEA for Peak XV.

Can I list only Sequoia companies that went public or were acquired?

Yes. Use stageFilter with values such as Public, IPO or Acquired. It matches against the company status string, which reads like Active (Private) or Public/IPO (2020). You can also use yearFromTo to limit results to companies Sequoia first partnered with in a given year range.

Does it include funding round sizes or valuations?

No. It returns what the portfolio pages publish: company details, sectors, years, partner, founders and status. The stage field is often empty because the pages do not publish it. For funding amounts, look at Form D or funding-news actors instead.
