This actor turns the European Environment Agency (EEA) WISE Water Framework Directive (WFD) database into clean, per-record data — the significant impacts officially recorded on Europe's surface water bodies. Each run reads the EEA's keyless DiscoData SQL service and delivers one row per impact record, structured for water-status and catchment analysis, reusable with acknowledgement of the EEA, with no personal data of any kind.

Under the Water Framework Directive, member states record the significant impacts observed on each surface water body — the effects, such as nutrient enrichment, organic enrichment, or altered habitats, that result from the pressures acting on it. A run first re-reads the source host's robots posture from your runtime — the EEA DiscoData host — and stops at the door if that ever changes. It pages the WISE WFD surface-water significant-impact table (filtered to your required countryCode and optional year), and flattens each row to one record — carrying every status label and value verbatim, never anything person-shaped — delivered before it is charged, so a blocked or empty run costs you nothing. Working with the data
The impacts are the effect layer, and the fields make them countable. Because every record pairs a significant_impact_type with the body's status labels, an analyst can rank the most common impacts in a basin and correlate them with ecological status. Joined to the pressure cell on the water-body code, the impacts complete the pressure→impact chain. The reporting_year tracks change between cycles.
Identifiers and joins
Every record carries the eu_surface_water_body_code, keying each impact to the fleet's surface-water pressure, priority-substance, and exemption cells for the same body, on a shared identifier.
Impacts versus pressures
The directive is careful to separate a PRESSURE (the driver — diffuse agricultural pollution, an abstraction, a dam) from an IMPACT (the observed effect — nutrient enrichment, altered habitat, lowered flow). This cell reads the impact table; the pressure cells read the pressure tables. Pulling both and joining on the water-body code reconstructs the full pressure→impact→status chain the WFD assessment is built on, with each half priced and delivered independently.
