Most of the runs are failing (Error when fetching...)

When running many batch jobs for Search, I get Error when fetching... appearing in the run. It happens fairly early (within the first 30 seconds). From the logs it's not immediately clear what's happening. I think my overall success rate for the jobs is probably less than 50%.

I'm running 128 concurrent runs, each of which has a memory limit of 512MB. I can send you a list of run IDs via email if you wish too.

To be clear, I'm running in the order of 600-700 (in some cases, up to 1000), runs, but parallelizing 128 at a time.
