IAAI Vehicles Scraper

IAAI Vehicles Scraper extracts salvage and used vehicle listings from IAAI (Insurance Auto Auctions) by keyword, ZIP code, or any filtered IAAI search URL: year, make, model, VIN, primary and secondary damage, odometer, start code, ACV, Buy Now price, branch, lane, and auction date and time. You get one clean row per vehicle lot, ready to export as JSON, CSV, or Excel.

Search all IAAI inventory in the US and Canada by keyword, sort by distance from any US ZIP code with an optional mile radius, or paste a search URL with any filters from iaai.com, and get 60+ fields per lot, including auction times converted to real UTC and Central time.

What is IAAI Vehicles Scraper?

IAAI Vehicles Scraper is an IAAI data extraction tool that reads the public vehicle search results on IAAI.com, the online auction site of Insurance Auto Auctions, where insurance companies, rental companies, and other sellers auction salvage, total-loss, and used vehicles. IAAI has no public API for its inventory, so the scraper works as an IAAI API alternative for car buyers, exporters, rebuilders, dealers, parts sellers, and analysts who want IAAI auction data in a spreadsheet or database.

The easiest way to try it: keep the prefilled keyword honda civic, click Start, and open the dataset. You get 20 Honda Civic lots with damage, odometer, ACV, branch, and auction date in a few seconds.

No IAAI account is needed.

What can IAAI Vehicles Scraper do?

  • 🔎 Keyword search: the same search as the IAAI search box, such as f150, tesla model 3, toyota camry, or just a make.
  • 📍 ZIP code and radius: sort vehicles by distance from any US ZIP code, add the distance to every lot, and keep only lots within a mile radius.
  • 🔗 Filtered search URLs: choose any filters on iaai.com (Buy Now, vehicle type, damage, year, sale doc, branch, and more), copy the URL, and paste it. The scraper reads the search exactly as IAAI built it.
  • ↕️ 10 sort orders: auction date, distance, year, odometer, ACV, or newest stock numbers.
  • 🌎 All inventory: leave the keyword empty to read IAAI's whole live inventory (about 365,000 vehicles when we tested in October 2026), including IAA Canada lots in CAD.
  • 🕒 Real auction times: auction times are returned with the correct Central Time offset and in UTC, ready for sorting and alerts.
  • 💲 Buy Now prices: lots offered with Buy Now come with the price, plus flags for Pre-Bid and timed auctions.

Because IAAI Vehicles Scraper runs on the Apify platform, you also get:

  • ⏰ Scheduling to check new IAAI inventory every hour or day.
  • 🔌 API access and client libraries for Python and JavaScript.
  • 🔗 Integrations with Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make, webhooks, and more.
  • 📁 Exports to JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML from the dataset.

Fields IAAI leaves blank for a lot are null. Lots not yet scheduled show saleDate: "Auction Not Assigned", with auctionDateTime: null and auctionAssigned: false.

Use cases

  • Salvage car buying: shortlist Run & Drive lots with low miles and light damage before IAAI auction day.
  • Export and rebuild sourcing: pull every lot for a model across all branches, with damage, title type, and ACV.
  • Local inventory alerts: schedule a ZIP code and radius search and send new lots to Slack or Google Sheets.
  • Price and market research: track ACV, Buy Now prices, and supply by make, model, year, and damage over time.
  • Parts sourcing: find vehicles of a given model and engine for used parts.
  • Dealer and insurance analytics: monitor branch volumes, loss types, and sale documents across IAAI.

How it works

  1. A keyword runs the same search as the IAAI search box. A pasted URL is opened once, and the scraper reads the exact search criteria (filters, sort, ZIP code, radius) that IAAI embedded in the page.
  2. IAAI Vehicles Scraper requests result pages of 100 vehicles, the largest page IAAI serves, a few at a time, and stops at Max vehicles, Max result pages, or the last page.
  3. Each lot is read from the result row: the vehicle, condition, build, and sale columns, plus the auction data IAAI attaches to each lot.
  4. IAAI shows guest auction times in US Central Time, and its embedded timestamps carry that local time with a +00:00 suffix. The scraper attaches the real Central offset (CDT or CST) and also returns the time in UTC.
  5. Lots that appear on more than one page are saved once. In testing, 10 consecutive pages returned 1,000 unique lots on repeated runs.
  6. No browser is used, so runs are fast and cheap. In our tests at the default memory, 5,000 vehicles took about two and a half minutes.

How much does it cost to scrape IAAI?

IAAI Vehicles Scraper uses pay-per-event pricing. You pay per vehicle saved to the dataset. Compute and proxy costs are included in the price, so there are no extra platform usage charges.

EventFree planBronzeSilverGold
vehicle-scraped: per vehicle saved$0.00099$0.00089$0.00079$0.00079
Per 1,000 vehicles$0.99$0.89$0.79$0.79

For example, the prefilled run (20 vehicles) costs about $0.02 on the Free plan, and 10,000 vehicles cost $9.90. Use Max vehicles or a spending limit to cap a run; the scraper stops as soon as the limit is reached. Apify's Free plan includes monthly platform credits you can use to try the scraper.

for (const lot of items) console.log(lot.vehicleTitle, lot.buyNowPrice, lot.branchName, lot.auctionDateTimeUtc);

See the API tab for all endpoints and the Apify API client docs for more options.

IAAI Vehicles Scraper only reads vehicle listings that IAAI shows to logged-out visitors. It does not log in, bid, or access member-only data such as full VINs or seller names. Vehicle data and photos still belong to IAAI and its sellers, so check IAAI's terms before republishing them, and make sure your use complies with the laws that apply to you. Consult a lawyer if in doubt. Read more in Apify's post Is web scraping legal?

FAQ

Do I need an IAAI account? No. IAAI Vehicles Scraper reads the public search results that IAAI shows to guests.

Why are the last six characters of the VIN hidden? IAAI masks the end of the VIN (for example 1FTFX1CT2CF******) for visitors who are not logged in as registered buyers. The scraper returns the VIN exactly as IAAI shows it. The first 11 characters still carry the manufacturer code, vehicle attributes, model year, and plant code.

How do I use filters the scraper doesn't have as inputs? Set them on iaai.com/Search (vehicle type, damage, year range, sale document, Buy Now, branch, and more), copy the address from your browser, and paste it into IAAI search URL. The scraper reads the same search, sort, and ZIP code.

How many vehicles can I get? As many as IAAI lists for your search. IAAI serves every result page to the end, 100 vehicles per page. Set Max result pages high enough: for example, 10,000 vehicles need 100 pages.

What time zone are auction times in? saleDate is IAAI's label, in US Central Time. auctionDateTime is the same time in ISO 8601 with the Central offset (-05:00 in summer, -06:00 in winter), and auctionDateTimeUtc is in UTC.

Why does a ZIP code search show fewer vehicles than the keyword alone? IAAI returns a somewhat smaller total when results are sorted or filtered by distance from a ZIP code (for example, 6,921 instead of 7,476 Ford F-150 lots in our test). The scraper returns what IAAI lists for that search.

Does it include Canadian vehicles? Yes. IAA Canada lots appear in IAAI searches with market: "IAA Canada", tenant: "CA", and prices in CAD.

Can I schedule runs and get new lots automatically? Yes. Use Apify schedules to run a search hourly or daily, and integrations or webhooks to send results to Google Sheets, Slack, or your own app. Sort by stockNumberDesc to put the most recently added stock first.
