Sedo Domain Auctions Scraper

Scrape Sedo domain auctions for expiring domains, filtered by TLD, price, traffic, and keyword, up to a million per run. Every domain comes with its reserve price, traffic estimate, end time, and computed signals. No login or API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Sedo's auction marketplace lists thousands of expiring domains, but manually sifting through the roster for a brandable name or a traffic-rich bargain is slow. This reads the live Sedo expiring auction export directly, applies your filters on price, TLD, traffic, length, and keyword, and returns each matching domain in one fixed schema.

Who uses itWhat they scrape Sedo for
Domain investorsBuild a daily watchlist of expiring domains that match a target TLD, price ceiling, and keyword pattern.
SEO agenciesFind aged, traffic-carrying domains for client redirects or private blog networks.
Branding consultantsSurface short, brandable .com names before they hit public closeout auctions.
Market researchersTrack pricing and inventory trends across TLDs in the Sedo auction ecosystem.

What it does

This Actor collects domain names from the Sedo expiring auction roster and returns each one as a flat row with its reserve price, monthly traffic, auction end time, and computed length.

  • ๐Ÿท๏ธ TLD filter: restrict results to one or more top-level domains, from .com and .net to .bayern and .koeln.
  • ๐Ÿ”ค Keyword filter: case-insensitive substring match on the domain name, so "crypto" catches CryptoHub.com and ai-crypto.net.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Price range: set a minimum and maximum reserve price in USD to stay within your acquisition budget.
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆ Traffic floor: keep only domains with a monthly traffic estimate at or above your threshold.
  • ๐Ÿ“ Length control: filter by second-level domain character length, with separate min and max sliders.
  • ๐Ÿšซ Character exclusions: drop domains that contain hyphens, digits, or internationalised (IDN) characters.
  • โณ Auction window: keep only auctions ending between two ISO timestamps, or include already-ended auctions for historical analysis.
  • โ†•๏ธ Sort order: order results by end time, price, traffic, length, or domain name before the max-items cutoff.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with Sedo data

๐Ÿ’Ž Find brandable .com domains under $2,000.

A domain investor runs the Actor daily with TLD set to .com, max price 2000, hyphens and numbers excluded, and length between 4 and 8, then reviews the shortlist for outbound sales.

๐Ÿ“Š Monitor .ai and .io inventory for tech startups.

A venture studio sets TLDs to .ai and .io, min traffic to 100, and sorts by ending soonest to catch technical domains before they close.

๐ŸŒ Build a geo-targeted domain portfolio.

A European domainer filters by .de, .bayern, and .koeln TLDs, excludes IDN domains, and exports the full roster weekly to track regional pricing trends.

๐Ÿ” Keyword-spot expiring domains for niche sites.

An SEO agency sets domainContains to "insurance" and min traffic to 500, then feeds the resulting list into a backlink analysis tool to qualify acquisition targets.

Why choose this scraper

Flexible outputExport to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or push directly to a downstream API.

How it compares

The Backlink Building Agent automates outreach for backlinks, which is a different workflow from scraping Sedo's auction roster for domain data. This Actor is purpose-built for domain investors who need the raw auction feed.

Configure the run

Drive the Actor from the live Sedo expiring auction export, and every filter runs client-side as each domain is read so only matches reach your dataset. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

{

}

A larger pull:

Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Sedo through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/sedo-auctions-scraper"

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting zero results?

Your filters are likely too restrictive. Try removing the keyword, price, traffic, or length filters one at a time and re-run. Also confirm that the TLDs you selected are present in the current auction roster.

The traffic numbers look wrong or are all zero.

Sedo's traffic estimates are not available for every domain. Many domains will show zero traffic. This is expected and reflects the data Sedo publishes.

The run timed out.

The Sedo export is typically under 10 MB and should not time out. If it does, reduce maxItems or increase the Actor's timeout in the run settings. A transient network issue on Sedo's side may also cause this; retry the run.

My keyword filter is not matching domains I can see on the Sedo site.

The filter is a case-insensitive substring match on the full domain name string as returned by Sedo. Check for trailing spaces or unexpected characters. Try a shorter substring.

The sort order does not seem to apply.

Sorting happens after filtering but before the max-items truncation. If you are not seeing the expected order, confirm that your filters are not removing the domains you expect to see at the top.

FAQ

QuestionAnswer
Does this scraper need a Sedo account or API key?No. It reads the public expiring auction export that Sedo makes available without authentication, so no login or API key is required.
How fresh is the domain list? The Actor fetches the live export on every run, so you get the current auction roster as it exists at that moment.
Can I filter by domain age or backlink count?Sedo's public export does not include age or backlink metrics. The available filters are TLD, keyword, price, traffic, length, character type, and auction end time.
What does the traffic number represent? It is Sedo's estimated monthly visitor count for the domain, based on their internal data. Treat it as a relative signal rather than an absolute guarantee.
Can I get the highest-traffic domains first?Yes. Set the sort order to "Traffic (high to low)" and the Actor will order results by the monthly traffic estimate before applying the max-items limit.
Does the scraper follow pagination? The Sedo export is a single file, not a paginated API. The Actor reads the entire roster in one request and then applies your filters and max-items limit.
Can I run this on a schedule?Yes. Apify supports scheduled runs. Set the Actor to run hourly or daily and push the results to a Google Sheet, database, or email.
What happens if I set maxItems higher than the available domains? You will receive every domain that passes your filters. The Actor will not error or pad the dataset.
Does the Actor handle IDN domains correctly?IDN domains are included by default. Enable the "Exclude internationalised domains" checkbox to drop them from your results.
Can I get domains that already ended?Yes. Check "Include already-ended auctions" to see domains whose end time has passed but are still present in the Sedo export window.
