Connecticut License Lookup - CT eLicense Contractor & Professional
Search Connecticut State Licenses and Credentials from the official data.ct.gov publication of CT eLicense (Department of Consumer Protection and Department of Public Health): more than 2.6 million records across hundreds of credential types.
Popular types include Home Improvement Contractor (HIC), New Home Construction Contractor, Home Improvement Salesperson, electrical and plumbing/HVAC (heating, piping & cooling) contractors and journeypersons, Professional Engineer, Real Estate Broker and Salesperson, Registered Nurse, Physician/Surgeon, Pharmacist, CPA, liquor permits, and food establishments.
Each result includes:
- licensee name, business name, DBA, and entity type
- credential name, full credential code (e.g. HIC.0631057), and subcategory
- status, status reason, and active flag
- issue, effective, and expiration dates
- address of record, city, state, and ZIP
Results are newest issue date first, so a blank run returns the newest Home Improvement Contractor licenses. No API key. Pricing: $0.002 per credential + $0.0001 start.
{ "credentialTypes": ["HIC"], "cities": ["Stamford", "Greenwich"], "issuedAfter": "2026-10-01", "maxResults": 200 }

Use cases
Contractor and vendor verification, home-services and insurance lead generation (newly licensed contractors), renewal outreach (expiring credentials), and compliance screening of licensed professionals.
Limits
Point-in-time public data; confirm with CT eLicense lookup before relying on it. Names and credential names are matched as substrings; short codes like "HIC" match the credential type code exactly. No phone or email is published. A few source rows have obviously wrong future issue dates; the blank newest-first feed skips those.
