🚀 Kayak Flights Scraper: Flight Price Tracker and Kayak API Alternative

The Kayak Flights Scraper turns any KAYAK flight search into structured data: full itineraries, airlines, flight numbers, aircraft, layovers and every booking option KAYAK compares, each with its own price, baggage allowance and booking link. Use it as a flight price tracker, for flight price comparison across airlines and travel agencies, or as a simple alternative to a KAYAK API or flight price API.

Most flight scrapers return one headline price per itinerary. This Actor keeps every offer KAYAK lists for that itinerary, often 20 or more, so you can see who sells the flight and for how much.

🎯 Use Cases

  • Flight price tracker: schedule a daily run on your routes and dates to track flight prices and catch drops early, like a cheap flights tracker you control.
  • Flight price comparison: see which airlines and travel agencies undercut each other on the exact same itinerary.
  • Airfare history and price alerts: keep each run's dataset to build your own flight price history, and trigger a flight price alert when a fare falls below your threshold.
  • Corporate travel checks: pull business-cabin options with baggage allowances to check them against travel policy.
  • Route and market research: analyze carrier mix, aircraft types, non-stop availability and durations on a route.
  • Fare prediction models: build training data of fares against departure dates and booking lead times.

✨ Features

  • Complete itineraries: every leg and segment with airline, flight number, aircraft type, local departure and arrival times, duration, stops, cabin and an overnight flag.
  • Every booking option: all airline and travel agency offers for the itinerary, with provider name, price, total price, currency, free-cancellation flag and a booking link. A seller can appear more than once when it offers several fares.
  • Cheapest offer up front: price, provider and bookingUrl at the top of each row point to the lowest offer.
  • Baggage details: carry-on and checked-bag text as KAYAK shows it, plus per-carrier bag rules with size limits.
  • In-flight amenities: Wi-Fi, entertainment, power outlets, seat pitch and layout, and meal service where KAYAK reports them.
  • Any search you can run on KAYAK: one-way, round-trip and multi-city. Cabin class and passenger counts are read from the search URL.
  • Local currency: use a country domain such as kayak.co.uk, kayak.de or ca.kayak.com to get prices in that market's currency.
  • Sort, then limit: collect the best, cheapest or fastest itineraries first, up to your per-search limit.
  • No duplicates and fair billing: each itinerary is saved once per search, and a search is only charged when it returns results.
  • Many routes per run: add as many search URLs as you like; several are processed in parallel.

🛠️ How It Works

  1. Search on KAYAK in your browser with the route, dates, cabin and passengers you want, then copy the URL from the address bar. You don't need to build it by hand.
  2. Paste the URLs into Kayak search URLs, choose a sort order and set Max itineraries per search.
  3. Run the scraper and download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or fetch them through the Apify API.

FieldTypeWhat it does
Kayak search URLs (startUrls)arrayKAYAK flight search URLs, e.g. https://www.kayak.com/flights/NYC-LAX/2027-06-15/2027-06-22. One-way, round-trip and multi-city all work.
Sort results by (sortBy)stringWhich itineraries to collect first: best (KAYAK's recommended ranking), cheapest or fastest. Default best.
Max itineraries per search (maxItems)integerHow many itineraries to save for each search URL. Default 50. A popular route can have well over a thousand.

Actor start$0.00005 per runCharged once when the run starts.

Examples:

  • 1 route, 50 itineraries: $0.02 + $0.05 = about $0.07.
  • 20 routes, 100 itineraries each: $0.40 + $2.00 = about $2.40.
  • Daily flight price tracker on 10 routes, 20 cheapest itineraries each: about $0.40 per day, or $12 for 30 days.

Use Max itineraries per search and the run's maximum charge to keep costs predictable.

stops at the top is the highest stop count on any leg (0 = non-stop), and durationMinutes is the total time in the air and on layovers across all legs. bookingOptions has one entry per offer, so the same airline or agency can appear several times with different fares (in this row from $409 up to $2,377). hasHackerFares marks itineraries built from two separate one-way tickets, and detailUrl is a shareable KAYAK link to the itinerary.

🔁 Schedule a Daily Flight Price Tracker

To track flight prices, run the Actor once a day (or a few times a day close to departure) with the same search URLs and sortBy: "cheapest". Every run is a dated snapshot of the fares, and together they form your airfare history. Set this up in Apify Schedules, then send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or a webhook with Apify integrations, so a price drop can trigger an alert or land in your team's spreadsheet.

🤖 Use with AI Agents (MCP)

This Actor works as a tool in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients through the Apify MCP server (https://mcp.apify.com). An agent can call it with:

{
"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.kayak.com/flights/NYC-LAX/2027-06-15/2027-06-22" }],
"sortBy": "cheapest",
"maxItems": 10
}

❓ FAQ

Does KAYAK have an official API? KAYAK offers affiliate and partner programs, and API access is for approved partners. There is no open, self-serve public API for flight search results. This Actor is a practical alternative: no key, no approval and no rate-limit handling on your side. It returns the itineraries, every booking option and the baggage details KAYAK shows for the search.

Is there a Google Flights API? Google does not offer a public Google Flights API; its QPX Express flight API was retired in 2018. KAYAK compares many of the same airlines and travel agencies, so this Actor is a practical source of flight price data for the routes and dates you choose.

Are the prices live? Each run performs a fresh search on KAYAK, so the prices are the ones KAYAK shows at run time for the searched dates and passengers. Fares change often and the final price is confirmed by the airline or agency at booking.

How do I track flight prices and build a price history? Schedule the Actor daily with the same search URLs and keep each run's dataset, or append the rows to a Google Sheet. Compare price per resultId or per flight number across runs to spot drops.

Do I need a KAYAK account? No. Paste the search URL from your browser and run it.

Why is a field empty or "Unknown"? Values come from what the seller reports to KAYAK. checkedBags is often "Unknown" when the seller doesn't state its bag fees, and amenities or cabin can be empty when KAYAK has no details for that segment.

How many itineraries and which dates can I get? Up to your Max itineraries per search limit, and a popular route can have well over a thousand. Airlines usually publish schedules about 11 months ahead, so dates further out return nothing. Prices come in the currency of the KAYAK domain you use, such as GBP on kayak.co.uk or EUR on kayak.de.
