XCMG Equipment Specs API: XCMG Catalog Scraper for Models, Specifications and Images
XCMG Equipment Specs API extracts the XCMG construction equipment catalog from xcmgglobal.com: around 1,100 models with technical specifications, descriptions and product images, returned as structured JSON. By default results are served from a pre-built database that is refreshed monthly, so most runs finish quickly without re-scraping the site. It is made for equipment dealers, rental companies, procurement and tender teams, market-intelligence platforms and construction-tech products that want to include Chinese OEM machinery in their comparisons. Try it first with maxItems set to 5 or 10.
Why scrape the XCMG equipment catalog?
XCMG publishes its international catalog on its website, but not in a form that is easy to filter, compare or load into a database. With XCMG Equipment Specs API you can:
- Build a spec database of excavators, loaders, cranes, drilling rigs, rollers and more.
- Benchmark XCMG against other OEMs by joining the output with other catalog data.
- Support procurement and tenders by comparing weight, power, capacity and dimensions.
- Power matching tools with
specs_flat, a flat key-value version of the spec table that is easier to filter. - Track new models by scheduling monthly runs and comparing
product_idvalues.
Who uses it? Dealers and rental companies check what XCMG offers in each equipment class. Procurement and tender teams compare specifications side by side. Market-intelligence and construction-tech teams load the catalog into their own databases so Chinese OEM models appear next to other brands.
What data does XCMG Equipment Specs API extract?
One row per model. Based on real output:
| Group | Fields |
|---|---|
| Identification | model, product_id, url, series |
| Category | cat_slug, cat_label, cat_id |
| Specifications | specs (list of name, unit, value), specs_flat (flat key-value), key_specs (headline specs), has_full_specs |
| Content | description, image_thumb, images (list of URLs) |
key_specs holds a few headline specifications for every model. specs and specs_flat hold the full table and are empty ([] and {}) when the product page does not expose it; has_full_specs tells you which case you are in. The previous documentation estimated that roughly half of the product pages expose the full spec table. series and description can be empty strings, as in the first sample row. Spec values are returned as text with the unit sometimes embedded (for example 4000kg), so parse them in your pipeline.
Equipment categories
Use the categories input to filter. Leave it empty for all categories:
crawler-excavator, wheel-loader, truck-crane, rotary-drilling-rig, road-roller, concrete-pump, motor-grader, dozer, paver, cold-planer, mining-truck, mining-excavator, forklift, telehandler, aerial-work-platform, skid-steer-loader, backhoe-loader, compact-excavator.
The cat_slug and cat_label in the output follow the website's own taxonomy, so values such as euro-v can appear and do not always match the filter list above.
Input parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
categories | array of strings | [] | Equipment categories to return; empty = all categories. |
maxItems | integer | 20 (Console prefill: 5) | Max models returned. Set 0 for all available (about 1,100). |
skipDetailPages | boolean | false | Fast mode (index only): returns basic info (model, category, image, 3 key specs) without fetching the full spec tables. The schema describes it as about 10x faster. |
forceRefresh | boolean | false | By default results come from the pre-built database (updated monthly) and are cached for 30 days. Enable only if you need the latest data from the website. |
Sample run of 10 models:
{"categories": [],"maxItems": 10,"skipDetailPages": false,"forceRefresh": false}
Full catalog, crawler excavators and wheel loaders only:
{"categories": ["crawler-excavator", "wheel-loader"],"maxItems": 0}

The images list is shortened here; real rows can contain a dozen image URLs.
How much does it cost to scrape XCMG data?
XCMG Equipment Specs API uses Pay Per Event pricing:
| Event | Price (USD) |
|---|---|
| Actor Start (one event per GB of memory, minimum one) | $0.005 |
| Result (one model in the dataset) | $0.0025 |
The default memory is 512 MB, so a run is charged one start event.
Worked example: the full catalog of about 1,100 models costs 1,100 x $0.0025 = $2.75 plus $0.005 for the start, so about $2.755. A 10-model test costs $0.025 + $0.005 = $0.03. A 100-model run costs $0.25 + $0.005 = $0.255. The price is per model returned, whether it is served from cache or from a fresh scrape. Set a maximum cost per run in the Apify run options if you want a hard cap.
How do I run XCMG Equipment Specs API from the API?
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/rastriq~xcmg-global-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"categories": ["wheel-loader"], "maxItems": 50}'
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient("<YOUR_TOKEN>")run = client.actor("rastriq/xcmg-global-scraper").call(run_input={"categories": ["truck-crane"], "maxItems": 0})for model in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(model["model"], model["has_full_specs"], model["specs_flat"])
Schedule monthly runs in the Apify Console, export to JSON, CSV or Excel, push data to Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n, or trigger webhooks when a run finishes. AI agents can call the Actor through Apify's MCP server.
FAQ
Why do some models not have full specs? Some product pages do not expose the full specification table in the page content the Actor reads. Those models still return key_specs from the catalog index, with specs empty and has_full_specs set to false.
How fresh is the data? By default it comes from a database updated monthly and cached for 30 days. Set forceRefresh to true for a fresh scrape; the previous documentation indicated that a fresh scrape can take 20 to 30 minutes.
Is this official XCMG data? The data is collected from xcmgglobal.com, XCMG's international website. The Actor is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by XCMG.
Why does maxItems default differ between the API and the Console? The schema default is 20, while the Console form is prefilled with 5. Set it explicitly.
Is it legal? The Actor reads public product pages and returns no personal data. You are responsible for complying with the site terms and applicable law.
Can I get only the lightweight index? Yes. Enable skipDetailPages to get the model, category, image and key specs without opening every product page. It is useful for a quick inventory of the catalog.
