How the scoring works

The Acquisition Readiness Score evaluates targets across five weighted dimensions.

Financial Health: SEC filing analysis, insider trading sentiment (net buying vs selling direction and velocity), and CFPB complaint severity. Massive insider selling with zero buys triggers a deal breaker flag. CFPB complaints over 200 are flagged as severe consumer issues.

IP Portfolio Strength: Patent count and quality from USPTO and EPO, trademark coverage from EUIPO, and geographic IP coverage (US, EU). Assessed as a proxy for competitive moat and defensibility.

Workforce Stability: Hiring velocity classification (AGGRESSIVE/HEALTHY/MODERATE/STAGNANT), departmental coverage (engineering, sales, marketing, product, operations), and R&D intensity from job posting mix.

Technology Maturity: Tech stack modernity from website fingerprinting, GitHub repository count and activity, open source engineering culture, and technology debt indicators.

Market Position: SaaS competitive intelligence, company research profiles, Shopify presence (for e-commerce targets), and SERP visibility with top-10 ranking counts.
