What it does

The actor pulls the World Bank Group list of debarred and cross-debarred firms and individuals, applies the filters you pass as input, and writes one normalized record per entity to the run's dataset. It parses each entry's grounds into a clean groundsCategory (Fraud, Corruption, Collusion, Coercion, and so on), flags whether the sanction is currently active and whether it is permanent, marks cross-debarments and the originating MDB (World Bank, ADB, EBRD, IDB, AfDB), and builds a single-line address from the source parts.

Dates are normalized to YYYY-MM-DD and missing source values are returned as null, never invented. This is a name-screening/KYB tool for procurement and compliance workflows.

<DATASET_ID> is returned as defaultDatasetId in the run object. Use offset and limit to page through large result sets. clean=true drops empty and internal fields.

Billing and limits

• No charge on failure. If a run errors, the actor writes a single item with a populated error field and does not charge for it. Empty runs cost nothing.
• Spend cap respected. Set maxTotalChargeUsd on the run; once reached, the actor stops emitting and charging further billable results.
• Free Apify plans are capped at 10 records per run. Upgrade for higher maxFirms.

FAQ and troubleshooting

A run returned 0 records. Why? The filter combination matched nothing. Loosen filters (remove countries or widen grounds), or set status to all. Zero-result runs are not charged.

How do I screen a specific supplier name? Pass one or more terms in names. Matching is substring and case-insensitive, so a partial name works.

What is cross-debarment? Under the mutual enforcement agreement, a debarment by one multilateral development bank can be recognized by the others. Cross-debarred entries have crossDebarred: true and mdbSource set to the originating bank.

What does active mean? active is true when the entity is currently ineligible (ongoing or permanent). Set status to expired to see entries whose ineligibility period has ended, or all for both.

Is this an official World Bank tool? No. This actor is independent and has no affiliation with the World Bank Group. It reads only data that is publicly available on the World Bank debarred-firms page.
