What it does

The actor looks up Portuguese companies by name or by NIPC (the 9-digit company/tax number), reads each matching public company profile, and writes one normalized record per company to the run's dataset. It returns the identity fields (NIPC, VAT, legal and brand name, legal form, status), every registered CAE activity code with descriptions, share capital as both a formatted string and a numeric amount, the incorporation date, and the full registered address broken into street, postal code, city, municipality, district and country. Missing source values are returned as null.

An optional paid contact-enrichment add-on (enrichContacts) attempts to find a public business email and contact person for each result. Data covers Portugal only.

<DATASET_ID> is returned as defaultDatasetId in the run object. Use offset and limit to page through large result sets. clean=true drops empty and internal fields.

Billing and limits

• Pay per result. You are charged per company returned (result event). See the pricing tab for the current per-result price.
• Contact enrichment add-on. When enrichContacts is on, the add-on is billed per attempt, plus an extra charge only when an email is found. It is off by default.
• No charge on failure. If a lookup has no match or errors, the actor writes an item with a populated error field and does not charge for it. Empty runs cost nothing.
• Spend cap respected. Set maxTotalChargeUsd on the run; once reached, the actor stops emitting and charging further billable results.
• Free Apify plans are capped at 10 companies per run, and the enrichment add-on at 3. Upgrade for higher caps.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Can I search by company number? Yes. Add the 9-digit NIPC to nipcNumbers and the exact company is returned. You can also search by name, or mix both in one run.

What is a CAE code? CAE is the Portuguese economic activity classification. Each company has one or more CAE codes; the actor returns the primary code plus every registered code with its description, and a caeCount.

What does the contact enrichment add-on return? When enabled, it adds enrichedEmail, enrichedContactName, enrichedJobTitle, enrichedEmailStatus, enrichedSource and enrichedConfidence where a public business contact can be found. It is a paid add-on, off by default.

Do I pay for runs that find nothing? No. You are only charged per company record returned. If a name or NIPC has no match, that run costs nothing.

How fresh is the data? Every profile is read live at run time, so each record reflects the public profile at the moment of the run (see observedAt).

Is this an official government tool? No. This actor is independent, with no affiliation with any Portuguese government body or registry. It accesses only publicly available company information.
