1,000 Skool communities with price, owner and category in 231 seconds

From The Mine Works, makers of Threads Scraper and B2B Leads Finder, with over 140,000 runs across 170+ public actors.

Why choose this actor?

  • Every row filled, not just a name and a link. In our 1,000 community test run, name, members, price, privacy, number of posts, owner name and category were filled on 1,000 of 1,000 rows, in 231 seconds, with 0 rows dropped. A community link that no longer exists is reported in the run summary and never charged.
  • The whole Skool directory, with every filter Skool has. Search text, the nine discovery categories, 48 languages, free or paid, public or private, trending or top. Skool shows at most 1,000 communities per list; with no search, this actor goes on through the category lists, up to 10,000 communities in one run. It uses the same input fields as other popular Skool scrapers, so you can switch without changing your input.
  • Owner links for outreach, posts for research, no member data. Each row carries the owner's display name and the website, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook links the owner shows on Skool. Switch on includePosts for the latest posts of public communities. No login, no cookies, no browser, and never a member list.

Run it on Apify

Part of The Mine Works Social media and video family: Threads Scraper, Reddit Scraper, Threads Search Scraper, Instagram Profile Scraper, Instagram Followers & Following, Reddit Search Scraper.

Try it in one minute

Paste this into the input (JSON view) and press Start. It returns 20 communities from Skool's discovery page, the same trending list an English speaking visitor sees, in about 15 seconds:

{
"maxResults": 20
}

Communities can be given three ways in communityUrls: a full link to any page of the community (https://www.skool.com/ai-automation-society/about works as well as the home page), a link without https:// (skool.com/learn-ai), or just the name in the link (makerschool). For the directory, leave communityUrls empty and use searchQuery, category and the other filters, or nothing at all for Skool's own front page.

Apify's free plan includes $5 of credit every month, which covers about 1,600 results at this actor's price.

themineworks/skool-scraper on Apify. Scrapes public Skool communities from Skool's discovery directory (search, category, language, price and privacy filters) or from a list of community links, one row per community with name, slug, url, members, snippet, category, description, about text, privacy, price, online members, total posts, courses, owner name and the links the owner shows, cover image, language, discovery rank and dates, plus optional post rows (title, author display name, date, likes, comments, link, text) from public communities. Call ApifyClient("TOKEN").actor("themineworks/skool-scraper").call(run_input={"searchQuery": "real estate", "maxResults": 50}), then client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items. Required: none (default is Skool's trending discovery list in English, 10 communities). Optional: mode ("discovery" or "community", default "discovery"), communityUrls (list of links or names; with no search or category they switch the run to community mode), maxResults (default 10, minimum 10, up to 10000 in discovery), searchQuery (text), category ("all", "hobbies", "music", "money", "spirituality", "tech", "health", "sports", "self_improvement", "relationships"), language ("all" or a language name, default "english"), price ("all", "free", "paid", "free-trial"), privacy ("all", "public", "private"), sortBy ("trending" or "top"), includePosts (default false), maxPostsPerCommunity (default 30, 10 to 1000). Full spec: GET https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/themineworks~skool-scraper/builds/default (Bearer TOKEN), which returns inputSchema and readme. Key features

  • Up to 48 fields per community: name, slug, link, members, a one line snippet, the short description and the full about page text, public or private, free or paid with the price as text and as a number (currency, monthly or yearly or one time, and the yearly plan when there is one), members online, number of posts, courses and lessons, admins, review rating and count, owner name, username, profile link, bio and six social links, the community's own sidebar links, cover image, icon, about page images and videos, language, category, discovery rank, created and updated dates.
  • Two modes, one input: discovery reads Skool's directory (search, browse, or search inside one category); community reads the communities you list. Same output either way.
  • Category on every browse row: Skool does not print a community's category on the community itself, so the actor reads it from the category lists, which Skool keeps in the same order as the full list. In our 1,000 row test, 1,000 of 1,000 rows got their category from 38 extra list pages.
  • Up to 10,000 communities from discovery, 30 per page. A search or a single category stops at Skool's 1,000; a browse with no search continues through all nine category lists and skips communities it already delivered.
  • Optional posts: up to 1,000 of the newest posts per public community, each with title, author display name, date, likes, comments, pinned, the community's own post category, the start of the text and the link. Private communities show no posts to visitors, so they get none.
  • A run summary you can audit: the OUTPUT record lists the lists read, pages per list, requests per type, communities not found, charges and whether the run was complete.

How to use it

Basic: Skool's discovery page

No input at all gives the first 10 communities of Skool's trending list in English, every category. Set maxResults for more:

{
"maxResults": 100
}

Search the directory

A search is ordered by relevance, as on Skool. This is our search test: 20 real estate communities in 13.3 seconds, every row with price, owner and about text:

{
"searchQuery": "real estate",
"maxResults": 20
}

Read communities you already know

Give links or names, one per line. With no search and no category the run switches to community mode by itself, so the input other Skool scrapers take works as is:

{
"communityUrls": [
"https://www.skool.com/ai-automation-society",
"skool.com/learn-ai",
"makerschool"
],
"maxResults": 10
}

Job: partner and sponsor outreach in one niche

Paid communities in one category with their owners' websites and social links. Search text inside a category keeps only communities whose name or short description has every word, because Skool's own search ignores categories:

{
"category": "health",
"searchQuery": "yoga",
"price": "paid",
"maxResults": 50
}

Sort the result by members and contact owners through owner_website, owner_instagram or owner_youtube. Our test of yoga inside Health (public communities only) read 20 pages of the category list and kept the 10 that matched.

Job: weekly growth tracking

Run the same list of communities every Monday with an Apify schedule and compare members, online_members and total_posts week to week:

{
"mode": "community",
"communityUrls": ["ai-automation-society", "learn-ai", "the-ai-advantage"],
"maxResults": 10
}

Tip: Apify Console, this actor, Schedules, Add schedule, pick "every week". Each run is one row per community, so a sheet of weekly rows builds a growth chart.

Job: what do public communities talk about

The latest posts of free public communities in your niche, with likes and comments, to find the topics that pull engagement:

{
"searchQuery": "ai automation",
"privacy": "public",
"price": "free",
"includePosts": true,
"maxPostsPerCommunity": 30,
"maxResults": 20
}

Post rows have record_type "post" and sit right after their community's row. Each post row is a result, so this input returns up to 20 + 20 x 30 rows.

Job: map the whole English directory

Every English language community Skool lists, across all nine categories:

{
"language": "english",
"maxResults": 10000
}

With no search and no category the run reads the full list first (Skool stops it at 1,000) and then the nine category lists, skipping communities already delivered. When we read all nine English category lists on 8 Oct 2026 they held 8,946 communities. For one category only, set category; for another language, set language (smaller languages fit in one list: Danish had 125 communities).

Input parameters

ParameterTypeDefaultWhat it does
modestringdiscoverydiscovery reads Skool's directory; community reads the communities in communityUrls. Links with no search or category switch the run to community by themselves.
communityUrlsarray of stringsemptyCommunities to read: full links (any page of the community), links without https://, or names.
maxResultsinteger10The most communities to return, 10 at least. Up to 10,000 in discovery, 50,000 in community mode. Post rows are limited separately.
searchQuerystringemptySearch text for the directory. With category set, it filters that category by name and short description.
categorystringallall, hobbies, music, money, spirituality, tech, health, sports, self_improvement or relationships.
languagestringenglishall or one of Skool's 48 discovery languages (german, spanish, french, portuguese, hindi and so on). A search with no hits in that language is widened to every language, as Skool does.
pricestringallall, free, paid or free-trial (paid with a free trial).
privacystringallall, public or private.
sortBystringtrendingtrending or top. A search is always ordered by relevance.
includePostsbooleanfalseAdds one row per post from each public community's feed.
maxPostsPerCommunityinteger30Posts per public community, 10 to 1,000, pinned posts first, then the feed's own order.

What data do you get?

One row per community (record_type "community"), and with includePosts one row per post (record_type "post") right after its community.

The community

  • name, slug (the name in the link), url, about_url, group_id (Skool's id)
  • description (the short line under the name in discovery), snippet (the first 200 characters of the about text, on one line), about_text (the whole about page text)
  • category (Hobbies, Music, Money, Spirituality, Tech, Health, Sports, Self-improvement or Relationships), language
  • cover_image, logo_url, about_images, about_videos, links (the community's sidebar links, each with label and url)
  • created_at, updated_at

Size and activity

  • members, online_members (members online when the row was read), total_posts, courses, modules (lessons across the courses), admins
  • rating and reviews_count, when the community has reviews

Access and price

  • privacy: public (anyone can read the posts) or private (join to read them)
  • is_free, price as text ("Free", "$27/month", "$184/month or $1,546/year", "$497 one time"), price_amount, price_currency, price_interval (month, year or one_time), price_yearly_amount

The owner (only what the owner shows on the public page; a community that hides its owner gets none of these)

  • owner_name, owner_username, owner_url, owner_bio
  • owner_website, owner_youtube, owner_instagram, owner_linkedin, owner_twitter, owner_facebook

Where the row came from

  • discovery_list ("all", "search" or the category name), discovery_rank (1 = first in that list), search_query, scraped_at
  • details_missing: true only if the about page details could not be read and the row carries the discovery card alone (0 of 1,000 rows in our test)

Posts (includePosts)

  • title, author_name (display name only), created_at, likes, comments, pinned, post_category (the community's own label, for example General Discussion), text_snippet (about 300 characters), url, post_id, plus slug, community_name and community_url

What is never in a row: member lists, who is online, leaderboards, join questions, emails, or anything else about the community's members. For posts, only the author's display name.

Stable fields for automations

These were present in every community row we sampled (1,000 browse rows, 20 search rows and the community mode rows):

FieldWhat it is
record_typecommunity or post
nameCommunity name
slugThe community's name in its link
urlLink to the community
membersNumber of members
snippetOne line preview of the about text
descriptionShort description
privacypublic or private
total_postsNumber of posts
adminsNumber of admins
group_idSkool's id for the community, the best key for joins
about_urlLink to the about page
created_atWhen the community was created
updated_atWhen the community last changed
scraped_atWhen the row was read

These names will not change; new fields may be added next to them.

category is filled on every browse row (with or without a category filter). Skool shows no category on the community itself, so rows from a plain search or from communityUrls leave it empty.

Pricing

Pay per event: you pay for the rows you receive, plus a flat $0.005 per run, whatever memory you choose.

EventWhen it is chargedFree planBronze (Starter)Silver (Scale)Gold (Business)
resultOnce per row stored in your dataset (a community or, with includePosts, a post)$2.99 per 1,000$2.69 per 1,000$2.39 per 1,000$1.99 per 1,000
run-startOnce per run, when it starts$0.005$0.005$0.005$0.005

The price of a single row is the price per 1,000 divided by 1,000. A community row costs the same with or without its posts; each post row is a result of its own.

Never charged:

  • community links or names that do not exist on Skool (they are listed in the run summary);
  • a community found twice in one run (by the full list and a category list, or given twice);
  • discovery pages, about pages and feeds the actor reads to build your rows;
  • the information row at the end of a run;
  • an input the actor cannot run (for example community mode with no links): it stops before the start fee;
  • anything past your "Max cost per run". The actor checks the budget before each row and stops while the total is still below your limit, so the run ends as SUCCEEDED with a partial result and a status message saying so, never ABORTED.

FAQ

What exactly does this actor read?

Skool's public pages, as any visitor sees them without logging in: the discovery directory (the list at skool.com/discovery with its search and filters), each community's public about page, and, with includePosts, the feed of public communities. Nothing behind a login is read.

How many communities can I get?

Skool shows 30 communities per page and at most 1,000 per list. A search or one category therefore gives up to 1,000. A browse with no search and no category continues through the nine category lists, up to 10,000 per run. In community mode there is no list limit: each link you give is one row (up to 50,000).

Why is category empty on some rows?

Skool does not print a community's category on the community itself; it only shows it through its category lists. Rows from a browse (with or without a category filter) always get it: 1,000 of 1,000 in our test. A plain search and communityUrls rows have no list to read it from, so the field is left empty instead of guessed. To get categories on a search, set category together with searchQuery.

Do I get member lists or member emails?

No. The actor never reads or returns member lists, who is online, leaderboards or join answers. Owner fields carry only what the owner chose to show on the public page, and a community that hides its owner gets no owner fields. Post rows give the author's display name only.

What about private communities?

Their about page is public, so every community field is filled for them too (members, price, posts count, owner and so on). Their posts are for members only, so includePosts returns no post rows for a private community.

How long does a run take?

About 15 seconds for 20 communities, 37 seconds for 65, and 231 seconds for 1,000 in our tests. Posts add a few seconds per community: 2 communities with 10 posts each took 10.8 seconds.

How fresh is the data?

Every value is read live during your run: members, members online, posts and price are what Skool shows at that moment. scraped_at records when each row was read.

How are prices given?

price is the text a buyer sees ("$49/month", "$184/month or $1,546/year", "$497 one time", "Free"); price_amount is the main price as a number in price_currency (Skool stores prices in the currency the owner chose, usually USD); price_interval is month, year or one_time. A community with no price set is free, which is how Skool's own Free filter treats it.

Do I need a Skool account, cookies or a proxy?

No. There is no login and nothing to configure. The actor reads public pages through Apify's datacenter proxy, which is included.

It is skipped, logged and listed under not_found_communities in the OUTPUT record, and never charged. Links to member profiles (skool.com/@name) and to Skool's own pages are left out with a warning at the start of the run.

Can I track communities over time?

Yes. Save your input as a task and add an Apify schedule (daily or weekly). Each run gives one row per community, so members, online_members and total_posts across runs show growth. Join runs on group_id, Skool's own id for the community.

Which formats can I download?

JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, RSS and HTML from the run's Storage tab or through the API. The dataset has three ready views: Communities, Community details and Posts.

Can I use it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor (MCP)?

Yes, through Apify's MCP server. Connector URL: https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/skool-scraper

  • Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in with Apify.
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode, add an MCP connector with the URL, sign in with Apify.
  • Cursor or VS Code: add it as an HTTP MCP server with that URL.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add -t http skool-scraper "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/skool-scraper"

The actor reads only public data that Skool shows to any visitor, and returns no member data. You are responsible for how you use the data: follow Skool's terms and data protection law such as GDPR and CCPA, especially before contacting anyone.

Integrations

  • Google Sheets: send each run's rows to a sheet with Apify's Google Sheets integration, or import the dataset's CSV link.
  • Make, Zapier and n8n: start the actor and read its dataset with the Apify apps and nodes, for example "new paid communities in my niche to a CRM".
  • Webhooks: have Apify call your URL when a run succeeds, then fetch the dataset.
  • API and SDKs: run it from Python or JavaScript with the Apify client, or with a plain HTTP call (see "Copy to your AI assistant" above).
  • MCP clients: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can run it as a tool through the connector URL in the FAQ.
