What people are searching for right now, country by country — with the approximate volume and the news stories behind each trend.

How to use

  1. Sign up for Apify — the free plan's monthly credit is enough to try this Actor.
  2. Open Google Trends Scraper, fill in the input (the form is pre-filled with a working example) and click Start.
  3. Watch results stream into the dataset table while the run is going.
  4. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML or RSS — or pull the results from your own code with the Apify API.

What can you use this for?

  • Newsroom and content planning — catch a topic while it is still climbing.
  • Cross-market comparison — run US, GB, KR, JP and DE in one go and see what travels.
  • Trend alerts — onlyNewTrends on an hourly schedule returns only what just appeared.
  • SEO — a daily feed of rising queries with the articles already ranking for them.

Input reference

Every option at a glance. A minimal input that works as-is:

"countries": [
"US",
"GB",
"KR"
],
"timeRange": "past-90-days",
"compareTerms": true,
"includeRegions": true,
"includeRelatedQueries": true,
"maxTrendsPerCountry": 50,
"includeNews": true,

All fields:

  • mode (What to get) — Trending now lists what people search today. Interest over time gives the 0-100 chart from Google Trends Explore for your own search terms, with interest by region and related queries. Options: trending (Trending now: today's top searches per country), interest (Interest over time: compare search terms (Explore)); default "trending".
  • countries (Countries) — Two-letter country codes — US, GB, KR, JP, DE, IN, BR. One run can cover many markets. For interest over time, leave empty for worldwide.
  • searchTerms (Search terms (interest over time)) — Up to 5 terms are compared on one 0-100 scale, like on Google Trends. More terms run in groups of 5.
  • timeRange (Time range (interest over time)) — Period of the interest-over-time chart. Short ranges give hourly points, long ranges weekly or monthly. Options: past-hour (Past hour), past-4-hours (Past 4 hours), past-day (Past day), past-7-days (Past 7 days), past-30-days (Past 30 days), past-90-days (Past 90 days), past-12-months (Past 12 months), past-5-years (Past 5 years), since-2004 (2004 - present); default "past-90-days".
  • compareTerms (Compare terms on one scale) — On: terms share one 0-100 scale (like Google Trends compare). Off: each term gets its own 0-100 scale. Default true.
  • includeRegions (Include interest by region) — Top regions (states, or countries for worldwide) for each term. Default true.
  • includeRelatedQueries (Include related queries) — Top and rising related searches for each term. Default true.
  • maxTrendsPerCountry (Max trends per country) — Google publishes about 20-50 trending searches per country per day. Default 50.
  • includeNews (Include related news) — Adds the news articles Google shows next to each trend. Default true.
  • minTraffic (Min searches) — Only trends above this approximate search volume, e.g. 20000.
  • keywords (Only trends containing) — Keep only trends whose query contains one of these words.
  • onlyNewTrends (Only new trends) — Monitoring mode. Returns only searches that were not in the previous run — run it hourly to catch things as they start trending. Default false.
  • maxResults (Max results) — Total limit across all countries. Default 1000.
  • proxy (Proxy) — Apify Proxy is used as a fallback if a direct request is refused.

How fast is it and what does it cost?

40 trends across 4 countries took 4 seconds.

How to get interest over time for your keywords

Set mode to Interest over time and add up to 5 searchTerms to compare (more run in groups of 5). Pick a timeRange (past hour to 2004-present) and optionally countries. Each term returns one row with:

  • timeline: the 0-100 chart points (date, value, isPartial)
  • averageInterest, latestValue, peakValue, peakDate, and trendChangePercent (last quarter of the period vs the first)
  • interestByRegion: top regions (states, or countries for worldwide)
  • relatedQueriesTop and relatedQueriesRising (rising ones show growth like +2,050% or Breakout)

Example: comparing "chatgpt" and "gemini" in the US over 90 days (October 2026) gave averages of 66 and 26, with "gemini" up 38% across the period.

Limits you should know about

  • approxTraffic is Google's own rounded figure ("200+", "10K+"), parsed into a number. Typical values range from 100 to a few hundred thousand.
  • Interest over time follows Google Trends' own 0-100 scale: 100 is the peak within the chosen terms, region and period, not an absolute search count.
  • Google rate-limits Trends. The Actor retries on a fresh session and then through Apify Proxy; very large batches can still be slowed down.

Pricing — what you pay per trend

This Actor uses pay-per-event pricing: no monthly rental, you pay for the results you get. Prices per 1,000 results by Apify plan:

EventFree planBronzeSilverGold+
trend — One trending search with volume and related news$0.80$0.72$0.68$0.64

There is also a small start fee of $0.00005 per GB of memory ($0.00005 per run at the default 1 GB). Platform compute is included in the price — you are not billed separately for run time. Set a maximum total charge on the run if you want a hard cap, and use the input limits to control how much is fetched. The current prices are always on the Pricing tab.

Tips

  • Start with a small maxResults (say 20) to check the output, then raise it — you only pay per result.
  • For ongoing tracking, schedule the Actor and turn on onlyNewTrends so each run returns only what is new.
  • Keep the default proxy setting — it is only used as a fallback when a direct request is blocked.
  • Rows the Actor cannot read are logged and skipped, never charged — check the run log if a count looks low.

Automate & schedule

Run this Actor on autopilot and pull results into your own stack:

JavaScript

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'MY_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('tindacloud/google-trends-daily').call({
"mode": "trending",
"countries": [
"US",
"GB",
"KR"
],
"timeRange": "past-90-days",
"compareTerms": true,
"includeRegions": true,
"includeRelatedQueries": true,
"maxTrendsPerCountry": 50,
"includeNews": true,
"maxResults": 1000
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(`Got ${items.length} records`);

Python

from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("MY_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("tindacloud/google-trends-daily").call(run_input={
"mode": "trending",
"countries": [
"US",
"GB",
"KR"
],
"timeRange": "past-90-days",
"compareTerms": True,
"includeRegions": True,
"includeRelatedQueries": True,
"maxTrendsPerCountry": 50,
"includeNews": True,
"maxResults": 1000
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
print(item)

cURL — run and get the results in one request:

curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/tindacloud~google-trends-daily/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=MY_APIFY_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"mode": "trending", "countries": ["US", "GB", "KR"], "timeRange": "past-90-days", "compareTerms": true, "includeRegions": true, "includeRelatedQueries": true, "maxTrendsPerCountry": 50, "includeNews": true, "maxResults": 1000}'

Integrate with any app

Connect the dataset to thousands of apps — no code required:

  • Make — multi-step automation scenarios.
  • Zapier — push new records straight into your CRM or sheet.
  • n8n — self-hosted workflows.
  • Slack — get notified when a run finishes or finds something new.
  • Google Drive / Sheets — auto-export every run to a spreadsheet.
  • Airbyte — pipe results into your data warehouse.
  • GitHub — trigger runs from commits or releases.
  • Webhooks — call your own endpoint when a run succeeds or fails.

Use with AI assistants (MCP)

The output is clean, LLM-ready JSON. Call this Actor from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any agent framework through the Apify MCP server — ask your assistant to "tell me what is trending in Google search in Japan and Brazil right now and why" and let it run this Actor for you.

Agent-ready: autonomous payments (x402 & Skyfire)

This Actor is agent-ready — AI agents can discover it, run it and pay for it on their own. It uses pay-per-event pricing and limited permissions, so it qualifies for Apify's agentic payments:

  • x402 — an open, HTTP-native payment protocol. Agents pay in USDC through the Apify MCP server — no Apify account needed.
  • Skyfire — agent-to-service payments with pre-funded Skyfire tokens.

Building an AI agent, MCP tool or data pipeline? This Actor is ready to plug in and pay as it goes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an API key or a login?

No. Paste your input, press Start. There is nothing to connect and no account on the target site to create.

How do I export the results?

Every run produces a dataset you can download as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read through the Apify API from your own code. You can also connect it to Make, Zapier or n8n.

Can I run this on a schedule?

Yes. Apify schedules run it every hour, day or week without you being there. With the monitoring option on, you only get searches that were not trending in the previous run.

Can I call it from Python or JavaScript?

Yes — the Apify API runs any Actor and returns the dataset, and the official Python and JavaScript clients wrap it in a few lines. AI agents can call it too, through Apify's MCP server.

What does it cost?

You pay per result, not per hour. Filters are applied before anything is charged, so narrowing the input directly lowers the bill. Pages that cannot be read are reported in the log and never charged.

Is this data public?

Everything collected here is what Google Trends shows to anyone without logging in. Check the target site's terms and the rules that apply to you before using the data commercially.
