Questions
Where do I put the # ?
Nowhere. Type nature. A leading # is sent as part of the tag and matches nothing.
Why did it stop before I had everything? Instagram stops handing out pages. The run ends when it returns an empty page or repeats a continuation value, and neither is under our control — a popular tag with millions of posts will not give up millions of rows. What you get is the recent window Instagram is willing to serve.
Can I collect a hashtag continuously? Run it on a schedule and keep the value the log prints when it stops. Feed that into Resume from next time and you pick up rather than recollecting the same posts. Without it, a fresh run starts at the top again.
Two hashtags in one run?
One tag per run. Run it twice — source_identifier keeps the rows apart when you merge them.
A tag I know exists returned nothing. Instagram restricts some tags and serves nothing for them. The run finishes successfully with zero rows, which is the honest answer: the tag exists, the posts are not being served. It is not a failure you can retry your way out of.
