TikTok Viral Sound & Trend Forecaster
Find the sounds that are trending on TikTok right now, and see which ones are growing fastest, before they peak.
How it works
- Explore. The actor opens TikTok's public Explore feed as a logged-out visitor and reads the trending videos. Every video carries the sound it uses, so grouping the videos by sound gives the sounds that are trending at that moment.
- Total videos. For each sound it opens the public sound page and reads how many videos use it.
- Velocity. It saves each count. On the next run it compares the counts: new videos per day, growth % per day, and a trend label (New, Exploding, Rising, Steady, Flat, Falling).
Schedule it daily, or every few hours, with the same History store name. Velocity appears from the second run.
Explore shows every visitor a different mix, so a sound rarely trends in two runs in a row. To keep velocity building, each run also re-checks up to 10 sounds that trended on earlier runs (Re-check tracked sounds). Those rows have onExploreNow: false.
If Explore returns an empty feed, the run retries twice with a new proxy IP. If it still gets nothing, it fails with a clear message and saves a DEBUG_EXPLORE screenshot, instead of succeeding with an empty dataset.
No login, no cookies, no TikTok API keys.
Region
TikTok Explore shows what is trending where the visitor is. The actor uses an Apify residential proxy in the region you pick, when your plan includes residential proxies. Without one, results reflect the location of the Apify server.
Output (one row per sound)
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
rank | Position by how many scanned Explore videos use the sound, then by plays (re-checked tracked sounds come last) |
onExploreNow | true if the sound was on Explore in this run, false for a re-checked tracked sound |
title, author, url | The sound and its public page |
videoCount | Total videos using the sound (from its page) |
velocity.newVideos, newVideosPerDay, growthPctPerDay, trajectory | Change since the previous run |
exploreVideos, explorePlays, exploreLikes | How strongly it shows up on Explore in this run |
hashtags, topVideos | Context: the hashtags and top videos using it |
isCommercial, playUrl, durationSec | Whether it is in TikTok's commercial library, the audio URL, its length |
Limits
- Explore has no "last 7 days" filter. It is what is trending at run time.
- A sound whose page can't be read keeps
videoCount: null. It is kept in the output, not dropped. - TikTok can show a verification page to automated browsers. The run then fails with a clear message. Retry later or use a residential proxy.
History of this actor
Until October 2026 this actor called TikTok's private mobile API with a placeholder signature. That could never return data. TikTok Creative Center's public trending-sounds list has also moved behind the TikTok One login. This version is a rewrite on the public Explore feed.
