Date Format Misidentified as Phone Numbers

Hi,

While scraping websites for phone numbers, I’ve noticed that many dates are being incorrectly identified as phone numbers. These dates are always in the format DD.MM.YYYY (day-month-year). Since no geography formats phone numbers in this way, this format could be safely excluded from phone number detection.

What do you think?

Yes, I agree. That’s actually a very good feedback. I will do it tomorrow morning !

I just released an update on the Actor. Let me know if it works better on your side ! If it does not, feel free to reopen this issue. And if you have more feedbacks, I am very interested in knowing them :) Have a good day

Hi Guillim! I just ran the actor, and it returned dates again. There were no phone numbers on the page, though. The website that was scraped was a company profile on northdata.de

That's the javascript I am using to detect and exclude the dates from my further steps: moment({{Phone Number}}, 'DD.MM.YYYY', true).isValid()

Noted thanks. Again, being able to reproduce your issue is required. Can you share your logs with me ? and the exact company page from northdata.de where you encounter the issue ?
