Any way to know image category? Or to filter by it?
Closed
Hi, love this repo! I really want to use this extensively, but one thing is missing: getting the image category. The thing is that you do have imageCategories, which means we're half way there. But still, knowing which category a specific image belongs to -- this doesn't exist. And it's obviously more interesting than knowing which imageCategories exist in general :) Further, if there was a filter by imageCategories -- say, get me all the image in the "menu" category, for example -- it'd be a killer feature. You can already see where I'm going with this... Would absolutely use it extensively. But so far it's just really hard to use, for the very fact that I have no clue which are the menu images (even though you do have this info). There are sometimes thousands of images total, which makes it just impossible to figure out... Would love to know if I missed thing and it is possible! (I wish!)

Hi, thanks for your patience. Sadly, this is not a feature we currently have. But it looks like an interesting idea, we will look into this and let you know.

Gotcha. Another question: any way to retrieve the menu? The absolute majority of restaurants have one on Google maps, and I’d really love to get it. If it’s not an option as I suspect, is it possible to just retrieve all the data found by your scraper and to parse it myself? Since you do recurve this data, but just don’t expose it in the JSON. (No problem if price is higher). As you can notice, I’m quite desperate for getting the menu escaped from there. Would love if you got any solution. My startup is getting traction and I really need this to work for it to keep growing. Win-win for us :)

The issue is that we don't even collect this data at the moment, but from a preliminary research it seems there is a possibility to connect categories to the according images. We will keep you posted.

I want to second this request - this would be supremely useful!

Hey, we still have it in the backlog but it is relatively complicated given the value so it doesnt have a very high priority and I am closing the issue for now.
