Several fields for the same information

Why are there several fields for the same information?
For example, I have integrated the actor with my Google Drive, and it saved the .csv file there. To my surprise, there are 3 fields for company description, and each result has the company description in one of the fields, which makes it very hard to handle in an automation process. The same happens for the company's website, headcount, and many other fields. Why is that? Isn't it possible for your backend to standardize the information and return a single field for each information?
