$0.69 per 1,000 trends on Starter ($0.89 Free, $0.45 Scale, $0.24 Business). The prefilled run (100 US trends) costs about $0.07. News is included, and there's no start fee.
What you get for each trend
- The trend: the search term, Google's rank, search volume (
500000, shown as500K+), growth in % over normal, and ascorefrom 1 to 1,000 (its volume against the location's biggest trend; 1,000 = the biggest). - Timing: when it started trending, when it ended (or
isActive: truewhile it's still rising) and how many hours so far. - Categories: Sports, Entertainment, Politics and Google's 16 others.
- Related queries: the other searches Google groups into the trend.
- News: up to 20 stories per trend (3 by default), each with the headline, the publisher's own link (not a Google redirect), the source, the time and an image. The top story's headline, link and source also sit in their own columns, and its image is the row's picture.
- A link to the trend on Google Trends, the location, the window and when it was read.
Use cases
- Newsrooms and creators: see what people search right now in a country or state, with the stories behind each trend, and write while it's rising.
- Marketing and social teams: catch trends in your category (Sports, Shopping, Technology...) for posts, ads and newsletters.
- Research and dashboards: schedule it hourly or daily and keep a history of every trending search with volume, growth, start and end time.
How to use it
- Pick one or more Locations: any country, or a state or region (California, Bavaria, Ontario...).
- Pick the window (Trending in the past 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days), and if you like Categories and Status (still trending or ended).
- Run it, or schedule it hourly to watch trends as they start. Download as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API, Make, Zapier or n8n.
Trends come in Google's own order (most relevant first), with rank; Sort by in the Advanced section also offers search volume, newest first and A-Z.

A location Google has no Trending Now list for, or one where nothing matched your filters, gets a free row in the Issues dataset with the reason. The run summary (OUTPUT in the key-value store) lists each location's count.
Pictures are Google's news thumbnails (encrypted-tbn*.gstatic.com); newsStatus says none when Google shows no news for a trend and failed if the news couldn't be read (the trend is still delivered).
Reliability
One call per location lists every trend, and one more call fetches the news for 10 trends at once: the prefilled run (100 US trends) takes about 4 seconds, and 1,304 trends from 8 countries about 10 seconds (run time in the Console, 2026-10-05). Runs get 1 GB of memory by default, which keeps them fast when Apify's servers are busy; it doesn't change what you pay. A refused call is retried on another IP at once. No browser and no residential proxy. A restarted run (an Apify migration, or a resurrect) skips the trends it already delivered, so none is charged twice, and Max trends per location counts the whole run.
FAQ
How is this different from Google's RSS feed? The RSS feed has about 10 trends per country. Trending Now has every trend Google lists (US, past 24 hours: 487 on 2026-10-04), with volume, growth, start and end times and categories.
What does the search volume mean? It's Google's lower bound for searches in the window (500K+ = 500,000 or more).
Keyword history? Use our Google Trends API for interest over time, by region and related queries for any keyword.
