Analyze AI answer text you supply for brand mentions, competitor mentions and cited sources. Keep each original answer alongside its result so your team can inspect the evidence.
This Actor does not query ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or any other AI provider. It does not generate answers, fetch citations or measure live search rankings. Use it after collecting answers in a separate authorized workflow.
Quick start
Paste your answer records in responses, enter the brands to find, and optionally add competitors. Run the Actor and export the results as JSON, CSV or Excel.
The example below is illustrative input, not a live AI response. Replace it with your collected answers before drawing conclusions.
{"brandNames": ["ExampleCo"],"competitorNames": ["OtherCo"],"responses": [{"query": "Illustrative software comparison","responseText": "OtherCo offers project planning. ExampleCo offers reporting.","provider": "Illustrative example, not a live AI response","citations": [],"sourceUrl": "","capturedAt": ""}]}
What you receive
One row per supplied answer/brand pair: isMentioned, mentionRank, competitorMentions, citedSources, original responseText, provider and any source URL or capture date you provided.
mentionRank counts which tracked brands appear earlier in the text. It is not a recommendation ranking. Matching is case-insensitive and whole-word (so "Linear" does not match "nonlinear"); ambiguous brand names such as "Linear" may still match ordinary words and need manual review. Identical answers are analyzed and charged once. Citations are preserved as supplied and are not independently verified. No visibility score or sentiment is invented.
Pricing and free sample
Standard price: $0.015 per analyzed answer/brand pair ($15 per 1,000). Ten answers compared against three brands create up to 30 billable pairs. No custom startup event is charged by this implementation. Check the Pricing tab for the current configuration.
Every Apify plan, including Free, runs full batches within the input and run spending limits. Input supports up to 500 answers, 20 brands and 20 competitors. The Actor stops at the spending limit and does not silently swallow billing errors.
Useful workflows
- Compare repeated, externally collected answers across a fixed prompt set.
- Build evidence-based brand-mention reports for clients.
- Export an answer corpus with source attribution for manual review.
Keep provider, prompt, collection date and settings consistent when comparing runs. This Actor cannot prove recommendation quality, citation correctness or market share.
Migration note
The earlier query-only input has been replaced by required answer records. queries alone is insufficient. The output now uses isMentioned instead of claiming a recommendation. Existing workflows must supply real response text.

FAQ
Does it query ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini? No. You supply the AI answers you collected; the Actor finds brand and competitor mentions and cited sources in them and keeps the original text as evidence.
How much does it cost? $15 per 1,000 answer/brand pairs. Identical answers are analyzed and charged once.
Can I run it through the API or on a schedule? Yes. Save your input as a task, schedule it in Apify Console, or call it from the Apify API. Results export as JSON, CSV or Excel and connect to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier or a webhook.
