RSS Feed Reader & Scraper (Free): Feeds to JSON, CSV & Alerts

Free RSS feed reader: read any RSS, Atom or JSON feed, or just give a website address and its feed is found for you. Get titles, links, dates, authors, summaries, images and categories in a clean table, filter by keyword and date, and receive only new items on each scheduled run. No Actor fee: you only pay the tiny Apify platform usage (a run of 8 sites cost $0.0001 in our test).

  • 🔎 Feed discovery: give lemonde.fr, spiegel.de or techcrunch.com; the Actor reads the page, finds the announced feed (or tries the usual addresses such as /feed and /rss.xml) and reads it.
  • 📰 Every format: RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 (RDF), Atom and JSON Feed, with HTML cleaned out of summaries.
  • 🧹 One clean table: title, URL, publication date (ISO), author, summary, categories, main image, feed title.
  • 📄 Full article text (option): most feeds only give a 2-line summary; the Actor can open each article and return its body as plain text, without menus, related links or newsletter boxes. Ready for summaries, AI pipelines or archiving.
  • 🔑 Keyword and date filters: keep only items about your brand, your competitors or your topic, from the last N days.
  • 🔔 Only new items: give a monitor name and schedule the Actor; each run returns only what was not seen before. Connect it to Slack, email, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n for news alerts.
  • ⚡ Fast and light: up to 2,000 feeds per run, 8 at a time; a run of a few feeds takes seconds.

📊 Data Report · 2 Nov 2026: one day of tech news from 6 sites

One free run, six home pages (no feed URL given: the robot finds the feed itself), articles of the last 24 hours, Monday 2 November 2026 at 14:37 Paris time:

SiteFeed foundArticles in 24 h
heise.de/rss/heise-atom.xml43
numerama.comannounced in the page15
techcrunch.comannounced in the page8
theverge.comannounced in the page8
wired.comannounced in the page6
arstechnica.comannounced in the page1

81 articles in 7 seconds. heise publishes more in a day than the four American sites together. heise does not announce its feed anywhere on its home page: since build 0.1.15 the robot also tries the feed links of the page and the /rss/

Reproduce it (then widen the list):

{
"urls": [
"https://www.theverge.com",
"https://techcrunch.com",
"https://arstechnica.com",
"https://www.heise.de",
"https://www.numerama.com",
"https://www.wired.com"
],
"maxAgeDays": 1,
"maxItemsPerFeed": 200
}

More reports like this one, twice a week: EuroScrape on LinkedIn.

📦 Output

One row per item. From a real run of 14 October 2026:

{
"type": "item",
"title": "NASA to Discuss Artemis Acceleration, Status of Upcoming Moon Missions",
"url": "https://www.nasa.gov/news-release/nasa-to-discuss-artemis-acceleration-status-of-upcoming-moon-missions/",
"publishedAt": "2026-10-14T13:32:25.000Z",
"author": "Gerelle Q. Dodson",
"summary": "As the Artemis II crew members came close to passing behind the Moon…",
"categories": [],
"feedTitle": "NASA",
"feedUrl": "https://www.nasa.gov/feed/",
"feedFormat": "rss",
"inputUrl": "https://www.nasa.gov"
}

With Full article text on, each item also has fullText (paragraphs separated by blank lines) and fullTextWords. In our test of 22 October 2026, BBC, Numerama, The Verge, TechCrunch and Der Spiegel articles came out with 250 to 2,300 words each instead of a 2-line summary. Paywalled articles return only their free part; videos return fullTextError.

When no feed can be found, a row with type: "error" tells you which address failed and why.

💰 Price

Free. This Actor charges no fee. Apify bills only the platform usage of your run, a fraction of a cent for a few dozen feeds. The Apify free plan includes monthly credit.

❓ FAQ

A website has no feed. What can I do? Most news sites, blogs, WordPress and Substack sites publish one. If none is announced, the Actor returns an error row for that site.

Some sites block the Apify servers (Reddit, for example). Turn on Apify Proxy in the Proxy option.

How does “only new items” work? The Actor remembers the items it returned for a monitor name (up to 50,000) in your Apify account. Use one monitor name per alert.

Can I get the full article text? Yes: turn on Full article text. The Actor opens each article (one extra page per item, so the run is slower) and keeps only the article body.

🔌 API, AI agents and integrations

  • API: one call runs the Actor and returns the results, POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/euroscrape~rss-feed-reader-free/run-sync-get-dataset-items (see the API tab for Python, JavaScript and cURL).
  • AI agents (MCP): add https://mcp.apify.com?tools=euroscrape/rss-feed-reader-free to Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client, and the Actor becomes a tool your agent can call.
  • No-code automation: start runs and pass the results on with Apify's integrations for n8n, Make and Zapier, or with a webhook when a run ends.
  • Exports: every result set downloads as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, and can be sent to Google Sheets.
  • Data Reports: twice a week, EuroScrape turns a run of one of its Actors into a 30-second data report (used-iPhone prices in 18 countries, electricity prices, Ryanair fares…) on LinkedIn. Follow the page to see what the data looks like.
