ImportYeti Scraper
Scrape ImportYeti importer and supplier profiles from public trade records by business name, product phrase, or address. Export ImportYeti data to CSV, JSON, or Excel, including shipment totals, trading partners, product codes, ports, carriers, and recent bills of lading. This actor provides a repeatable ImportYeti API alternative for collecting public search and profile data in one dataset.
Each dataset item represents one distinct business profile. Search summary fields are collected when the site returns them; detailed fields come from the corresponding public profile. Importer and supplier records share a stable shape, so one export can be filtered by entity type.
What data can you extract from ImportYeti?
The default dataset has the following top-level fields. Array and object fields retain nested records with camelCase keys. An empty array means the profile did not list that section. A missing field on a search-only record means the detail page was unavailable or detail collection was disabled.

A search-only record contains the name, type, country code, primary address, total shipments, latest shipment date, address and name counts, profile URL, and detailsAvailable set to false. Detailed records include the public partner, product, carrier, route, and bill rows. Dates in main fields use YYYY-MM-DD. Some nested source tables retain their original date labels, especially weekly and monthly series.
How to scrape ImportYeti
- Enter a business name, product phrase, or location in query.
- Choose name/product or address search. Optionally select importer or supplier and set shipment filters.
- Set maxResults and leave includeDetails enabled to collect the profile sections.
- Run the actor and open its default dataset. Download JSON for nested data or CSV/Excel for a spreadsheet view.
- If a broad term reaches the public search-page cap, narrow the phrase or select an entity type and run separate searches.
The actor follows search results in their returned order. It deduplicates profiles by URL and stops after the requested number of distinct qualifying results. When both types are selected and the initial search is not enough, it searches importers and suppliers separately to reach more public results. Address search is a separate route and can return a different mix of profiles.
Input
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| query | string | required | Business name, product phrase, or address text. |
| searchType | search or addresses | search | Choose name/product search or address search. |
| maxResults | integer | 100 | Stop after this many distinct results; maximum accepted value is 1,000. |
| type | any, company, or supplier | any | Keep both entity types or one. |
| mostRecentShipment | any, 6mo, or 12mo | any | Keep profiles whose latest known shipment is within the period. |
| minShipments | integer | 0 | Keep profiles with at least this many recorded shipments. |
| includeRelatedNames | boolean | false | Broaden name matching to alternative names and trademarks where available. |
| includeDetails | boolean | true | Open profile pages for detailed trade sections. |
For a product-category search, start with:
{"query": "bicycle parts","searchType": "search","type": "supplier","minShipments": 50,"mostRecentShipment": "12mo","maxResults": 30,"includeDetails": true}
The shipment and recency rules are checked against each returned search record. This matters because the public search endpoint ignored those filter parameters in our checks. A high threshold can therefore return fewer than maxResults; the actor will not fill the remainder with profiles that fail your criteria. For a location, set searchType to addresses and use a city or address phrase in query.
Output example
These selected values come from one detailed item in a verified 30-profile run. The full item also contains product codes, 27 trading partner rows, 53 shipping lanes, and 50 recent bill of lading rows.
{"type": "company","countryCode": "US","address": "980 Hammond Dr, Ste 1000, Atlanta, Ga 30328, Us","totalShipments": 7631,"mostRecentShipment": "2026-09-20","shipments12m": 1531,"dateRange": {"start": "2015-01-01","end": "2026-09-20"},"quarterlyGrowth": {"months": ["2026-09-01", "2026-08-01", "2026-07-01"],"shipments": -24,"percent": -5.97},"topImports": [{"hsCode": "39", "description": "Plastics", "shipments": 439},{"hsCode": "85", "description": "Electric motors/Appliances", "shipments": 466},{"hsCode": "87", "description": "Automotive", "shipments": 5077}],"detailsAvailable": true}
The example shows an excerpt to keep it readable. A normal detailed item includes all applicable top-level fields listed above. Some values depend on the profile: suppliers have topCustomers, importers have topSuppliers, and smaller profiles may have no HTS codes or shipping-lane breakdown. Use the full JSON export when nested partner, carrier, or container rows matter.
Use cases
- Supplier discovery: Search product phrases, keep suppliers with recent shipments, and compare trading volume and product codes.
- Importer research: Find importers related to a product or business phrase and identify their main overseas partners.
- Market mapping: Group result profiles by country, HS chapter, shipment count, or trading lane to see where activity is concentrated.
- Competitor monitoring: Schedule repeat searches for public shipment activity and compare latest shipment dates or 12-month totals.
- Trade operations: Inspect carrier, port-pair, container, and bill-type summaries before deeper record review.
- Data enrichment: Add public trade indicators to an internal business list by matching names and verifying profile URLs.
These uses rely on public records surfaced by the site. Shipment totals are historical records, and estimated shipping costs or delay metrics are the site's estimates. Check them against primary documents before operational or compliance decisions.
How much does it cost to scrape ImportYeti?
The actor's configured event price is $0.30 per 1,000 dataset items, or $0.0003 per delivered profile. Billing follows the number of items actually saved, so an input limit that cannot be reached because of public search limits produces a smaller charge. Standard actor usage is covered by this event price.
| Delivered profiles | Event charge |
|---|---|
| 30 | $0.009 |
| 100 | $0.030 |
| 1,000 | $0.300 |
For example, a 30-profile sourcing run costs 30 × $0.0003 = $0.009. A broad run that returns 100 profiles costs $0.03. Reaching 1,000 profiles would require several focused searches because each public result set has a page cap; 1,000 delivered items across those runs would cost $0.30 at the same event price. Requested maxResults is a stop limit, not a promise that the site contains or exposes that many matches.
Tips for best results
Use a specific business or product phrase first. Broad words can have hundreds of matches but expose only a limited number of public pages. If you need more coverage, narrow the phrase by product or location, search importers and suppliers separately, and deduplicate downstream by detailUrl. The actor already deduplicates within one run.
Enable includeDetails when you need HS codes, partners, lanes, carriers, or recent shipment rows. Disable it when you only need the faster search summary. For large jobs, split the work into several moderate searches rather than one very broad search. A verified 30-profile detailed run completed in 38 seconds on the platform, but profile size, response times, and rate limits change the duration.
Apply minShipments and mostRecentShipment to focus on active, higher-volume entities. Those checks occur after the site returns a page, so restrictive values can yield fewer items than requested. Address search is useful for a city or known street location; name search is usually better for a business or product. Check detailsAvailable before relying on any detailed field.
Limits
Public search returned ten profiles per page in the verified queries. Page 14 returned records, while pages 15 and 16 returned empty lists even when the reported total was larger. Name search can extend coverage through separate importer and supplier slices. Address search remains subject to its own public page cap. The maximum-results input can be set to 1,000, but accessible result count is determined by public pages and available slices.
Profile pages can be rate limited after repeated requests from one network address. The actor rotates datacenter sessions between small batches and retries blocked requests. If a profile still cannot be read, the search summary is retained with detailsAvailable false; detailed properties are omitted for that item. No login is used. No personal contact-list extraction is performed; business notify-party rows marked as personal names are excluded.
Some public profiles omit sections entirely. The most recent shipment date comes from search and may be old. The recent bill list is capped by the profile page at up to 50 rows. Aggregate cost, TEU, and growth figures follow the site's calculation and may differ from independently calculated figures. Search and profile data can update at different times, so a search summary and a detailed section may briefly disagree.
Use with automation agents
An agent can run this actor with a small input object and read the default dataset as structured JSON. Give it explicit limits and ask it to use detailsAvailable when drawing conclusions. Two example prompts:
Search public supplier profiles for bicycle parts, keep businesses with at least 50 shipments in the past 12 months, return at most 30 records, and summarize the main HS chapters.
Search importer profiles for a location phrase, return at most 50 records, and list the largest shipment totals together with the corresponding profile URLs.
For repeatable analysis, ask for the data fields needed for a decision and keep the source URL with every claim. A profile with missing detail fields should be treated as a search summary, not a complete trade report.
FAQ
Is it legal to use this data? The actor reads public search results and public business trade profiles. You are responsible for respecting the site's terms and applicable law, including data protection rules, and avoiding personal-data misuse. Review the suitability of public records for your use case.
Do I need an account or proxies? No site login is required. The actor uses a platform proxy by default and rotates datacenter sessions as needed. The default network route is included automatically.
How fast is a run? A verified run with 30 detailed profiles took 38 seconds on the platform. Search-only mode requests fewer pages and is generally faster. Response times and rate limits can make other runs slower.
Can I schedule and monitor it? Yes. Save the input as a task, schedule it at the interval you need, and inspect dataset counts and detailsAvailable after each run. Compare profile URLs across datasets to identify newly surfaced results.
Can I export to a spreadsheet? Yes. Download the dataset as CSV or Excel for a row-per-profile view. JSON preserves nested HS code, trading partner, lane, container, and bill records more faithfully.
What if a field is empty? The public profile may lack that section, or a detail page may have been unavailable. Check detailsAvailable first. For business-specific fields, an empty supplier list on a supplier profile is expected; its customers are in topCustomers.
Can I collect every matching profile? The public search route has a 14-page limit per result set. Narrow the phrase or search entity types separately to widen coverage. The actor does not claim completeness beyond what the public site exposes.
Use with AI agents (MCP)
Add this actor to any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, VS Code, n8n and others) with one URL:
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=mlg14/importyeti-scraper
Each dataset item is one importer or supplier profile (name, address, total shipments, latest shipment, top trading partners, HS code summary). Keep maxResults small so the agent gets a bounded result.
Prompt 1: "Find 20 suppliers of bicycle parts on ImportYeti with their trade partners."
{"query": "bicycle parts","type": "supplier","maxResults": 20}
Prompt 2: "Look up Porsche on ImportYeti: shipment counts and HS codes, 10 profiles."
{"query": "porsche","maxResults": 10,"includeDetails": true}
Prompt 3: "List 30 importers of furniture active in the last 12 months with at least 50 shipments."
{"query": "furniture","type": "company","mostRecentShipment": "12mo","minShipments": 50,"maxResults": 30,"includeDetails": false}
Integrations
Use the actor API to start runs and read the default dataset. Webhooks can notify your workflow when a run finishes; scheduled tasks can refresh an export on a regular cadence. The JSON dataset can feed an internal database or analysis pipeline, while CSV and Excel exports serve spreadsheet workflows. Keep detailUrl as the source key when merging results from multiple searches.
