Scrape FEC Schedule E independent expenditures by PACs and Super PACs supporting or opposing federal candidates. Get committee, candidate, amount, payee, date, election cycle, support/oppose flag. OpenSecrets alternative for campaign finance researchers, journalists, opposition research.
Specific FEC candidate ID (e.g. 'P00009423' for Donald Trump). If you don't know the ID, use 'candidate_name' instead and we'll resolve it via the FEC /candidates/search/ endpoint.
Search by candidate name (e.g. 'Trump', 'Harris'). Resolved to up to 3 candidate IDs and queried in one batch.
Optional FEC committee ID (e.g. 'C00010603' MAGA Inc) to restrict expenditures to a single PAC/Super PAC.
Even-numbered election year (e.g. 2024, 2022, 2020). Schedule E is reported per cycle.
ISO date YYYY-MM-DD. Filters expenditures with dissemination_date >= this value.
ISO date YYYY-MM-DD. Filters expenditures with dissemination_date <= this value.
S = support the candidate. O = oppose. Leave blank to return both.
Maximum number of expenditure records to return (1-2000). Each record is one Schedule E line item.
