Official source. No API key. Pay per record.
Give this actor a list of organization names and/or LEI codes. For each one it returns a single screening record that pairs two official, public sources: the organization's legal identity from GLEIF's Legal Entity Identifier data, and its sanctions presence on the U.S. Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. It is a point-in-time screening fact with full provenance — not a verdict.
What this is, in one paragraph
For each organization you submit, the actor resolves the legal identity against GLEIF's keyless LEI API (LEI, registered legal name, entity status, jurisdiction, registration dates — as an exact match, a candidate, or an honest "no match", with the match basis stated on every record and never a fabricated resolution), and screens the name and its GLEIF aliases against the OFAC SDN list's organization entries (match yes/no, the matched SDN name, and the OFAC program tags). Every record carries both source vintages — the GLEIF record's last-update date and the OFAC SDN list's publication date — so you always know how fresh each side is. Nothing is inferred, scored, or judged.
Who buys this and for what job
- Compliance, KYC, and onboarding teams that need a fast, sourced first-pass screen of a counterparty or vendor — is this organization on the OFAC list, and what is its verified legal identity — before a human review.
- Procurement and vendor-risk teams screening a supplier list against sanctions and confirming legal identity in one pass.
- Analysts and journalists who need the official identity + sanctions facts for a named organization, with the exact source vintages attached.
- Data engineers wiring a keyless, one-call organization screen into an existing pipeline.
The job it does: turn a list of organizations into sourced identity + sanctions-presence records — reliably, with provenance, without an account or key at either source.
What this is NOT — read this
This product returns facts, not decisions. It is:
- NOT a compliance verdict. A match is a data point to investigate; a non-match is not a clearance. Sanctions compliance requires human judgment against the official lists.
- NOT legal advice.
- NOT an alerting or monitoring service. It screens the organizations you submit, at the moment you run it. It does not watch for changes.
These same three lines are carried on the disclaimer field of every record.
Person, vessel & aircraft suppression (absolute)
The OFAC SDN list contains individuals, vessels, and aircraft as well as organizations. This actor ingests organization (entity) entries only. The filter is structural and applied before any record exists: only SDN rows typed as an entity — and their aliases — ever enter the screening index. Individuals, vessels, aircraft, and all of their aliases are excluded at ingest and counted on the run receipt (excluded_person_rows, excluded_vessel_rows, excluded_aircraft_rows, excluded_nonentity_aliases). A screening record therefore can never surface a natural person, vessel, or aircraft — the data is never loaded in the first place. This is verified by the acceptance suite (feeding individual/vessel/aircraft rows and asserting zero emit) and by a live leak check on every real run.
Pricing
Pay per event. One event: one delivered screening record. Tiered by your Apify plan; the record is delivered before it is charged. No start fee, no subscription. Blocked runs and empty inputs cost nothing.
| Event | Free plan | Bronze | Silver | Gold / Platinum / Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|
screening_record | $0.05 | $0.045 | $0.04 | $0.0335 |
The honest premium claim: this is a resolved identity-plus-sanctions record that gates a compliance decision, not a raw list item. It costs the same $0.05 as the rest of the NexGen Signal shelf; you are paying for the resolution and the paired provenance, not for volume.
Input
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
organizations | string list | Organization legal names and/or LEI codes, one per entry. Each becomes one screening record. Up to 1,000 per run. |
A run screens exactly the organizations you provide. The default sample screens three so you can see the shape of a match and a non-match quickly.
Output
One JSON object per organization. Example (an organization that matches the SDN list):
{"record_id": "b1c9f0e2a4d68f13c7e5a920","input_query": "AEROCARIBBEAN AIRLINES","input_type": "name","gleif_match_basis": "no_match","lei": null,"legal_name": null,"entity_status": null,"registration_status": null,"jurisdiction": null,"legal_form": null,"initial_registration_date": null,"last_update_date": null,"gleif_candidates_count": 0,"sanctions_listed": true,"sanctions_match_count": 1,"sanctions_matches": [{"sdn_name": "AEROCARIBBEAN AIRLINES", "sdn_uid": "36", "programs": ["CUBA"], "matched_via": "primary"}],"gleif_source": "GLEIF live LEI API (api.gleif.org), CC0","gleif_retrieved_at": "2026-08-18T00:00:00Z","ofac_source": "OFAC SDN list — entity-type entries only (individuals, vessels, aircraft suppressed)","ofac_sdn_publish_date": "2026-08-07","disclaimer": "Point-in-time screening fact ... NOT a compliance verdict, NOT legal advice, and NOT an alerting or monitoring service ...","observed_at": "2026-08-18T00:00:00Z"}
A resolved organization with no sanctions match returns its full GLEIF identity block (lei, legal_name, jurisdiction, entity_status, registration dates) with sanctions_listed: false and an empty sanctions_matches. Every run also writes an unbilled RUN_RECEIPT to the key-value store with the robots checks, the suppression counts, the SDN publish date, and whether the number charged equals the number delivered.
Cost guidance
One screening_record is billed per organization delivered, so cost = organizations screened × your plan's per-record price. Screening 1,000 organizations is $50 on the Free-plan rate, or $33.50 at the Gold-tier rate. A 100-organization list is $5 / $3.35.
Sources & vintages
- GLEIF — the Legal Entity Identifier data, retrieved live from
api.gleif.org. GLEIF's stated licence, verbatim: "The data on GLEIF's website is provided under a Creative Commons (CC0) license." The GLEIF record'slast_update_dateis carried on every record. - OFAC SDN list — the U.S. Treasury Specially Designated Nationals list (
sanctionslistservice.ofac.treas.gov), a U.S. Government publication offered for free public download and reuse. Entity-type entries only. The SDN list's publication date is carried on every record asofac_sdn_publish_date.
Honest limitations
- Matching is conservative and name-based. A sanctions match is an exact match (after normalization) of your organization name — or a GLEIF-resolved legal name/alias — against an OFAC entity name or alias. It does not do fuzzy matching, so a mistyped or abbreviated name may not match a real listing. Confirm against the official list.
- GLEIF resolution is exact or candidate, never invented. A name that does not resolve returns
no_matchwith null identity fields. - Both sources are living. GLEIF updates continuously; OFAC republishes the SDN list on its own schedule. The vintages on each record tell you how current each side is; re-run to refresh.
- Coverage. OFAC SDN is a U.S. list. This actor does not include the EU, UK, or UN lists (see differentiation below).
Differentiation
This is an organization-resolved screening record built from GLEIF identity + the U.S. OFAC SDN list. It is deliberately different from the NexGenData EU-list products: fleet-1's eu-consolidated-sanctions-tracker (a dump of the EU consolidated sanctions list) and fleet-2's eu-consolidated-sanctions-change-watch (a change-watch on that EU list). Those export or watch the raw EU list; this one resolves a named organization against the US SDN list and pairs it with GLEIF legal identity. Different source list (US OFAC vs EU consolidated), different shape (per-organization resolved screen vs list export/watch), no row overlap.

Sources: GLEIF (LEI data, CC0) and the U.S. Treasury OFAC SDN list (U.S. Government publication), entity-type entries only. Identity resolutions are stated by match basis and never fabricated; sanctions matches are exact name/alias matches against organization entries only. This is a point-in-time screening fact, not a compliance verdict or legal advice.
