What is TrustRadius Review Scraper?

TrustRadius Review Scraper is a scraping tool and TrustRadius API alternative that exports the reviews of any software product listed on TrustRadius. TrustRadius reviews are long and structured: each one answers a set of questions about use cases, pros, cons, return on investment, alternatives and feature quality. The scraper returns every published answer of every review, plus the reviewer's job title, company, industry and company size, in one clean JSON record per review.

The easiest way to try it: click Start with the prefilled Zoom Workplace URL, or paste the URL of the product you want, such as https://www.trustradius.com/products/salesforce-sales-cloud/reviews.

What can TrustRadius Review Scraper do?

  • 📝 Full review content: use cases, pros, cons, likelihood to recommend (score and explanation), ROI, alternatives considered, key insights, and every other answered question in sections
  • ⭐ Star rating filter: keep only 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, 2-star or 1-star reviews, or any combination
  • 🏢 Company size filter: small (1-50 employees), medium (51-1,000) or large (1,001+) companies, the same groups TrustRadius uses
  • ↕️ Four sort orders: newest, oldest, highest rated or lowest rated first, matching the sort menu on TrustRadius
  • 👤 Reviewer profile: name, job title, role, department, company, company size, industry, country, years of experience, LinkedIn URL and photo when TrustRadius shows them
  • 📊 Feature ratings with feature names, and the reviewer's ratings of other software they use
  • 🔗 Accepts any product URL (reviews, pricing or features page), the bare product slug, and old product slugs that TrustRadius has since renamed
  • ⚙️ Runs on Apify: schedule recurring runs, call it through the API, connect it to integrations like Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier or Make, and export results as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML

Quick start

{
"productUrl": "https://www.trustradius.com/products/zoom-workplace/reviews",
"maxResults": 100
}

Critical reviews from larger companies

{
"productUrl": "https://www.trustradius.com/products/zendesk-support-suite/reviews",
"maxResults": 500,
"sort": "critical",
"starRating": ["1", "2", "3"],
"companySize": ["medium", "large"]
}

Star rating filter

TrustRadius scores each review from 1 to 10 and shows it as 1 to 5 stars. The filter uses the same mapping as the website. The rating field in the output is always the original 1-10 score.

Star filterRatings included
5 stars9-10
4 stars7-8
3 stars5-6
2 stars3-4
1 star1-2

Select several levels to combine them. For example, ["1", "2"] returns every review rated 1 to 4.

Company size filter

FilterEmployees
Small1-50
Medium51-1,000
Large1,001+

The size comes from the reviewer's profile at the time of writing. Each review also gets a companySizeGroup field with the same grouping, so you can filter or chart later without re-running.

Some reviewers don't share every profile detail. When TrustRadius doesn't show a field, it is null.

Use TrustRadius Review Scraper from Python or JavaScript

Install the client with pip install apify-client or npm install apify-client, and get your API token from Apify Console.

Python

from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("parsebird/trustradius-review-scraper").call(run_input={
"productUrl": "https://www.trustradius.com/products/slack/reviews",
"maxResults": 300,
"sort": "critical",
"companySize": ["large"],
})
for review in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
print(review["rating"], review["reviewer"]["company"], review["cons"])

JavaScript

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('parsebird/trustradius-review-scraper').call({
productUrl: 'https://www.trustradius.com/products/hubspot-crm/reviews',
maxResults: 200,
starRating: ['5'],
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((r) => console.log(r.rating, r.heading, r.alternativesConsidered));

Use cases

  • Competitive intelligence: read what customers of a competitor dislike (cons, lowest-rated first) and which products they compared it with (alternativesConsidered).
  • Win/loss and positioning research: see why buyers picked a product over alternatives in alternativesFollowup.
  • Product feedback analysis: run sentiment or topic analysis on pros, cons and feature ratings across hundreds of reviews.
  • Segment insights: compare what small businesses and enterprises say by filtering on company size.
  • Sales and marketing: find quotes, ROI statements and the job titles and industries of happy customers.
  • Review monitoring: schedule a weekly run sorted by newest to track new reviews of your own product.

How it works

  1. The Actor finds the product on TrustRadius from your URL or slug, including products that were renamed.
  2. It reads the product's review list with your sort order and filters applied, ten reviews per page, the same way the TrustRadius website does.
  3. For each review it loads the full set of answers and adds the reviewer profile shown on the review card.
  4. Feature, category and product ids are turned into names, and each review is saved to the dataset as soon as it is ready.
  5. The run stops at Max reviews, at the end of the list, or when your spending limit is reached.

How much does it cost to scrape TrustRadius?

TrustRadius Review Scraper uses pay-per-event pricing. You pay for each review saved to the dataset. Platform usage (compute and proxy) is included in the event price, so it isn't billed separately.

EventFreeBronzeSilverGold
Review scraped$2.99 / 1,000$2.79 / 1,000$2.59 / 1,000$2.39 / 1,000

One saved review is one charge. At Free plan prices, the prefilled run of 20 reviews costs about $0.06, 100 reviews cost about $0.30 and 1,000 reviews cost $2.99. To control spending, use Max reviews. The run also stops when it reaches the maximum cost per run you set in Apify Console.

TrustRadius Review Scraper only collects reviews and reviewer details that TrustRadius shows publicly to visitors who aren't logged in. It doesn't log in and doesn't access private account data. Reviews contain personal data, such as reviewer names, job titles and LinkedIn URLs. If you store or process that data you're responsible for complying with the GDPR, other privacy laws and TrustRadius's terms of service. Consult a lawyer if you're unsure. FAQ

Do I need a TrustRadius account or API key? No. The Actor reads the same public reviews the website shows to logged-out visitors.

Which URL should I use? Any URL that contains /products/<product-slug>, such as the product's reviews, pricing or features page. You can also enter only the slug, for example zoom-workplace. If the product was renamed on TrustRadius, its old URL still works.

Why is rating a number from 1 to 10? That is how TrustRadius scores reviews. The website rounds the score to stars; see the star rating table above for the mapping.

Why do some feature ratings have no name? Older reviews sometimes rate features that TrustRadius has since retired from the product's feature list. TrustRadius no longer shows a name for them, so the record keeps the featureId and the rating with name set to null.

Why are some reviewer fields empty? Reviewers decide what to show on their profile, and older reviews have fewer profile fields. Anything TrustRadius doesn't display is returned as null.

What do trustBadge.source and trustBadge.incentive mean? They are TrustRadius's own disclosure of how the review was collected (for example CommunityInbound, DirectOutreach or VendorSourced) and whether the reviewer received an incentive. They are passed through as TrustRadius publishes them.

Can I scrape several products in one run? Each run scrapes one product. To cover several products, start one run per product through the API or create a task for each.

Something isn't working. What should I do? Open an issue on the Issues tab with the input you used. We read every report.
