Alibaba has no public product API — the official Open Platform is restricted to approved partners and does not expose supplier audit data or buyer reviews to ordinary buyers. This Actor is the practical unofficial Alibaba API: you send a keyword or a URL, you get structured JSON.

💰 How to control what a run costs

Every option you enable opens more pages per result, so cost tracks the depth you ask for:

• A plain search is by far the cheapest way to collect a lot of products.
• Full product details are the biggest single cost — switch them on only when you need price ladders, SKUs and spec sheets.
• Supplier profiles and reviews are fetched once per supplier and reused for all of their products. Scraping 200 products from 20 suppliers costs 20 supplier events, not 200.
• Nothing is charged for a page that returned no data.
• Every run logs how much traffic it used, in total and per record.

🪜 Price ladders vs variant ranges

Alibaba prices offers in two different ways, and both are returned:

• quantity_tiers — the classic wholesale ladder. tiers[] gives you every step, e.g. 100–299 pcs at $9.50, 300–499 at $9.30, 500+ at $9.00.
• variant_range — the price varies by SKU rather than by quantity, so you get min / max across the variants instead of a ladder.

The price.priceModel field tells you which one applies, so your pipeline never has to guess why tiers is empty.

Scraping publicly available data is generally legal, and this Actor only collects pages any visitor can open without logging in — product listings, public supplier storefronts and published reviews. It does not access private data, and no Alibaba account is used.

Does Alibaba have a public API?

Not for ordinary buyers. Alibaba's Open Platform is limited to approved partners and does not expose supplier audit data or buyer reviews. This Actor is the practical alternative.

Do I need an Alibaba account or login?

No. Everything collected is public data visible to any visitor. No account, no cookies, no session.

Do I need to bring my own proxies?

No. Residential proxies are configured by default and included in the price. You can supply your own on the Custom proxies tab if you prefer.

How many results can I get per keyword?

Search paginates deeply — thousands of offers per keyword. Use maxItems to decide where to stop.

Will I be charged for URLs that return nothing?

No. Events are charged only when data is actually delivered. A blocked or empty page costs you nothing.

Why do some products have a price ladder and others only a range?

Alibaba prices offers either by order quantity (a tier ladder) or per variant (a span across SKUs). Both are returned, and price.priceModel tells you which applies.

Why do some records have less supplier detail than others?

Not every supplier publishes a full company profile. Verified Gold suppliers expose the richest data; smaller storefronts publish less. Whatever a supplier publishes is captured, and missing fields are simply absent rather than null.

Am I charged twice if two products share a supplier?

No. A supplier's profile and reviews are fetched once and reused for all of their products, and billed once.

Can I export to CSV or Excel?

Yes — JSON, CSV, Excel, XML and HTML. For spreadsheets set outputFormat to flat so nested groups become plain columns.

Can I control exactly how much a run costs?

Yes. maxItems is a hard cap enforced on every record written, so the run stops at your number and cannot overspend.

Does it return prices in my currency?

Yes. Pick one of ten currencies; Alibaba converts server-side. Titles and specifications always come back in English.

Can I scrape all products from one supplier?

Yes — use supplierProducts with the storefront URL, or supplier with Also list the supplier's products enabled.

Does it scrape RFQ buying requests or do reverse image search?

No. This Actor covers products, suppliers and reviews. RFQ pages sit behind an Alibaba login, so they are out of scope.

Can I filter by price, MOQ or verified suppliers in the input?

Not in the input — filtering is done on the output, where you have the real MOQ, tier prices and verification fields to filter on. That is usually more precise than Alibaba's own facets.

How fresh is the data?

Every record is scraped live at run time and stamped with scrapedAt. Nothing is served from a cache.

My run returned fewer results than I asked for. Why?

Either the keyword has fewer offers than your maxItems, or some pages were unavailable during the run. The log lists what was skipped, and you are only charged for what was delivered.
