See where your business ranks on Google Maps from every part of town. The Actor lays a grid of points around your business (3x3 up to 9x9), searches Google Maps for your keyword at each point, and returns your rank there, the top 3 places at that point, and a summary: average rank, share of points in the top 3, and the competitors that beat you across the grid. Built for local SEO agencies, multi-location businesses, and AI agents that report local visibility. The data comes through a licensed data provider (DataForSEO), not by scraping Google Maps from a browser, so runs do not fail on captchas or blocks.

What you get

  • A rank for every grid point: your position among the top 100 places Google Maps shows there (empty when you are not in the top 100).
  • The top 3 at every point (the map pack): name, website, rating and review count.
  • One summary per keyword: points found, points in the top 3, top-3 share, average rank, best rank.
  • Top competitors: the 10 places with the best average rank across the grid, with how many points they hold in the top 3.
  • Find your business by name, website, place id or CID. No coordinates? Give the city and the grid is centered on your business.
  • Any country and language Google Maps supports.

Business data only: no phone numbers, emails or reviewer names.

Example output

A real 5x5 grid (1 km apart) for "dentist" around Times Square, New York, tracking New York Midtown Dental. One point row:

{
"type": "point",
"keyword": "dentist",
"business": "New York Midtown Dental",
"row": 2,
"col": 2,
"lat": 40.758,
"lng": -73.9855,
"distance_km": 0,
"rank": 1,
"in_top_3": true,
"matched_title": "New York Midtown Dental PC",
"places_checked": 100,
"top_3": [{"rank": 1, "title": "New York Midtown Dental PC", "domain": "nymidtowndental.com", "rating": 4.9, "reviews": 109}, "..."]
}

And the summary row for the same grid: found at 5 of 25 points, top 3 at 1 point (4 %), best rank 1, average rank where found 32 – a business that only wins right around its own door.

Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

  • $0.004 per grid point (one keyword at one point, top 100 places checked).
  • Looking up your business to center the grid counts as one point.
  • $0.001 per run start.

Examples: a 5x5 grid for one keyword costs about $0.10. A 7x7 grid costs about $0.20. Tracking 3 keywords on a 7x7 grid every week costs about $0.59 a week.

You can cap the cost of a run with the maximum charge setting; the Actor only starts the grids the budget covers in full. Failed points are never charged. Live grids need a paid Apify plan (any plan); the pre-filled example works on the free plan.

Good to know

  • Results usually arrive within a minute, even for a 9x9 grid.
  • Pick the spacing to match how far customers travel: about 0.5-1 km in a city, 2-5 km for a service area.
  • Rank is the position in the Google Maps list at that point and zoom; the top 3 match the map pack in Google search.
  • Business matching by name needs every word of your name in the Google Maps title; use the website or place id when names are similar.
