What it does

Give it G2 search terms, G2 category pages or specific product URLs, and it writes one record per software product to the run's dataset. Each record carries the product's G2 star rating (out of 5), total review count, all G2 categories it is listed in, description, logo, the pros and cons themes G2 surfaces from reviews, and the competing products G2 lists as alternatives. With includeReviews on (default) you also get individual reviews, sorted how you choose and filterable by minimum stars or publish date, which makes it suitable for review monitoring, competitive analysis and voice-of-customer research.

Values G2 does not show publicly (for example reviewer role, company size and industry, the rating distribution, vendor website and awards) are returned as null, never invented.

Quickstart

To monitor specific products, pass them in productUrls as full G2 URLs (https://www.g2.com/products/slack/reviews) or bare slugs ("slack"), and add reviewsSince to only keep new reviews.

Billing and limits

• Pay per result. You are charged per product record (result event). See the pricing tab.
• No charge on failure. If a run errors, the actor writes a single item with an error field and does not charge for it.
• Spend cap respected. Set maxTotalChargeUsd on the run; the actor stops once it is reached.
• Free Apify plans are capped at 10 records per run, and G2 may refuse free-plan runs; in that case you get a notice record and nothing is charged. Paid plans get full delivery.

FAQ and troubleshooting

What is the difference between starRating and g2Score? starRating is the average user rating out of 5 shown on G2. g2Score is a 0-10 score that G2 publishes only for some products; when it is not shown, the field is null.

How do I monitor new reviews for my product and competitors? Pass the products in productUrls, set reviewSort to most_recent and reviewsSince to the date of your last run. Schedule the actor on Apify to run daily or weekly.

Why are reviewer role, company size and industry null? G2 does not show those reviewer details to logged-out visitors, so they are returned as null rather than guessed.

A run returned 0 products. Why? The search term or category matched nothing on G2, or minRating filtered everything out. Try a broader term or a category slug. Empty runs are not charged.

Is this an official G2 tool? No. This actor is independent and has no affiliation with G2. It reads only publicly available data. Use it in accordance with G2's terms of service.
