What does Facebook Reels Scraper do?
Facebook Reels Scraper collects the reels a public Facebook Page or profile has posted and returns one clean row per reel: the caption, view count, hashtags, duration, publish date, thumbnail and direct video links. Give it a list of Pages (URLs or plain names) and it walks each Reels tab from the newest reel back, as deep as you ask.
It works like a Facebook Reels API you can call from code, a schedule or an AI agent: no Facebook account, no cookies, no browser. Results land in an Apify dataset you can download or read over the Apify API.
Why use it?
- Competitor monitoring: see what a rival brand posted this week, how many views each reel got and which hooks they use in captions.
- Creator and influencer research: compare reach across creators before a campaign by pulling their recent reels and view counts.
- Content strategy: find the reel formats and lengths that perform best for a Page, then sort by views in a spreadsheet.
- Daily or weekly tracking: set "Only reels newer than" to
7 days, schedule the run, and get just the new reels each time. - Video archives and AI pipelines: feed captions and video links into transcription, tagging or summarisation.

How to scrape Facebook reels
- Open the Actor and paste one or more Pages into Facebook Pages or profiles (for example
facebook.com/natgeo,natgeoor aprofile.php?id=link). The same Page listed twice is scraped once, and a reel is never charged twice in one run. - Set Max reels per Page. Reels load 10 at a time, newest first.
- Optional: set Only reels newer than (
2026-10-01,7 days,3 months) to monitor recent posts only. - Click Start. Each reel appears in the dataset as soon as it is scraped.
- Download the results or connect them to your tools through the Apify API, webhooks or integrations.
How much does it cost to scrape Facebook reels?
You pay $3 per 1,000 reels ($0.003 per reel), plus a tiny $0.00005 start fee per run. Pages with no Reels tab, Pages that do not exist, invalid input and pages that fail to load are returned as free error rows, so you never pay for nothing. The Apify free plan's $5 monthly credit covers roughly 1,600 reels. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.
Input
{"pages": ["https://www.facebook.com/natgeo", "zuck"],"maxReelsPerPage": 50,"newerThan": "30 days","maxConcurrency": 3,"proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true }}
Output
{"reelId": "29519908570948223","url": "https://www.facebook.com/reel/29519908570948223","caption": "There are more reasons to visit Grenada than its white sandy beaches...","hashtags": ["BestOfTheWorld"],"viewCount": 266000,"viewCountText": "266K","durationSeconds": 7.66,"publishedAt": "2026-10-31T13:30:08.000Z","width": 1080,"height": 1920,"thumbnailUrl": "(cover image URL)","videoUrlHd": "(MP4 URL)","videoUrlSd": "(MP4 URL)","postId": "1707279077436182","ownerName": "National Geographic","ownerId": "100044623170418","ownerUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/natgeo","pageId": "23497828950","pageUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/natgeo","scrapedAt": "2026-11-01T12:00:00.000Z"}
A Page that cannot be scraped returns one free row such as {"pageUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA", "error": "no-reels", "message": "This Page has no public Reels tab."}. You can download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.
Tips
- Plain Page names work:
natgeois the same ashttps://www.facebook.com/natgeo/reels/. - The default Apify datacenter proxy is enough for public Pages. If many Pages come back as
blockedorlogin-wall, switch the proxy to residential. - For monitoring, schedule the Actor daily with
newerThanset to2 days, so a late run never misses a reel. - Video links are signed by Facebook and expire; download the files soon after the run if you need them.
FAQ
Do I need a Facebook account or cookies?
No. The Actor reads the public Reels tab the same way a logged-out visitor does.
Can it get likes, comments or shares?
Not at the moment. Facebook's public Reels tab shows the view count, which this Actor returns; likes and comments are not part of that view.
Why is the view count rounded?
Facebook itself shows views as "266K" or "1.2M". The Actor returns both that text and its numeric value.
What happens with Pages that have no reels?
You get one free row with error: "no-reels". Pages that do not exist return not-found, and a Page that stops paginating part-way keeps the reels already scraped and adds a free pagination-failed row.
Is scraping Facebook reels legal?
This Actor collects only publicly visible data. You are responsible for how you use it: personal data may be protected by GDPR and other laws, so do not collect it without a lawful reason, and check Facebook's terms for your use case.
