Similarweb Pro Scraper is a Similarweb Pro scraper that collects website traffic, SEO, audience, advertising and backlink reports into one nested website result. Select the report pages you need and receive their available data with reporting periods, item counts and complete JSON file links for larger reports.
- 27 Similarweb Pro report pages covering traffic, search, audience, advertising and backlinks.
- Two inputs only: one
websiteand areportsselection; Similarweb account access is handled by the Actor. - One website result containing sections and period-labelled item arrays.
- Large-report delivery through
file_url, alongside inlinedatafor smaller reports.
The prefilled apify.com run with traffic_engagement, social and display_campaigns returned 223 items in about 25 seconds and costs $0.034 on the FREE tier: the $0.01 Actor Start, a $0.02 website result and $0.004 for its first 1,000 report items.
Why Choose Similarweb Pro Scraper
Similarweb Pro Scraper organizes research around the report pages you select for a website.
Choose relevant reports. A traffic review can focus on engagement and social sources; an SEO review can select keywords, landing pages and search competitors. The report selection is part of the saved website result, so downstream workflows can process each subject separately.
Keep periods with the data. Each section contains period objects with period_start, period_end and items. These dates identify the requested reporting window. Source-specific observation dates remain with their individual items.
Combine related research. Traffic, audience, paid search, display advertising and backlink reports share one website identity. This makes the result useful for agency research, prospect qualification and recurring domain analysis.
Pro report depth per website. Each selection reads the Similarweb Pro report pages behind it — keyword tables, landing-page snapshots, ad creatives, publishers and individual backlinks — and keeps every item the source returns for the reporting window.
Retrieve large reports as JSON. A report is delivered through its inline data or a complete JSON file referenced by file_url. item_count records the number of items in that report across its periods. Preserve both delivery forms when building an integration.
Quick Start Guide
Use the prefilled website and report selection for a first run.
1. Configure
Enter apify.com in Website and select traffic_engagement, social, and display_campaigns in Reports. A website URL is normalized to its host, so https://apify.com/store requests the domain apify.com.
2. Run
Start the Actor and wait for the run to finish. Collection time depends on the selected reports, available history and volume of source data. For a broader analysis, add further report pages in a subsequent run after reviewing the first result.
3. Collect
Open the Dataset and export the website result as JSON. Inspect reports, then each report's data, file_url and item_count. Read the run's RUN_SUMMARY record to distinguish completed, empty and partial sections. Retrieve any file_url report and save it with the Dataset export.
Input Parameters
Similarweb Pro Scraper requires website and reports, in that order.

reports | array of strings | Yes | One or more of the 27 report-page selections. Duplicate selections are combined. | ["traffic_engagement", "social", "display_campaigns"] |
{"website": "apify.com","reports": ["traffic_engagement", "social", "display_campaigns"]}

Reporting periods and coverage
Reporting windows are selected from the source's available history. Similar-site and search-competitor sections use up to the latest three available months. Organic and paid landing pages, US ranking keywords and position tables are collected as individual available monthly snapshots. Backlink trends use their own source reporting window.
General traffic analysis uses worldwide coverage; the US keyword and position sections use US data. Read each section and period in its own context when comparing measures. An undated section carries null period boundaries.
Output Data Schema
One Dataset row represents one source-identified website and its selected report pages.
| Root field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
website | string | Website identified by the source profile. |
reports | object | Selected report pages, organized by section and period. |
processor | string | Apify actor URL that processed this record |
processed_at | string | UTC timestamp when this record was processed |
Each report page contains data, file_url and item_count. Inline data contains section names whose values are arrays of period objects. Every period has period_start, period_end and items. When a report is delivered as a file, data is null and file_url points to the full report object. A failed file delivery is represented by null delivery values and a corresponding run-summary status.
Business fields
Report items use a shared schema of 138 nullable business fields. Each section populates the fields relevant to its subject: keywords include search measures; campaign items include advertising measures; numeric observations use metric, dimensions and value. Missing source values stay null, while genuine zero and false values remain intact.
| Example item field | Description |
|---|---|
monthly_visits | Source estimated monthly website visits; profile and engagement may use different source models. |
visit_duration | Average visit duration in seconds. |
visit_pages | Average pages per visit. |
spend | Source estimated advertising spend in USD. |
cpc | Source estimated cost per click in USD. |
parent_entity | Source parent domain or advertising entity of a group member. |
site_metrics | Source per-website keyword clicks, shares, SERP features and top destinations. |
The Output tab contains the full typed field contract. Shares retain their source scale. Evaluate a measure together with its section, dimensions and period; group aggregates and group members describe different levels of the same population.
Abbreviated output from the apify.com example: this run returned 223 items across the three selected reports. The abbreviated JSON shows the first period and first item of each section; item counts retain the full report totals.

JSON preserves the nested report structure and is the recommended export for further processing. For CSV or spreadsheet analysis, flatten the selected report's period/item arrays and retain website, section and period columns. Shared sections can appear under multiple selected report pages, so deduplicate by analytical meaning before combining them.
Integration Examples
Run Actor ID E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm (agentx/similarweb-pro-scraper) asynchronously, wait for completion, and retrieve its Dataset and referenced report files.
Actor ID
Use this Actor ID in API calls, SDKs, Make.com and n8n:
E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm
The name form agentx/similarweb-pro-scraper is an equivalent alternative.
HTTP
Send the same apify.com example input to the Run Actor endpoint:
POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm/runsAuthorization: Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKENContent-Type: application/json{"website":"apify.com","reports":["traffic_engagement","social","display_campaigns"]}
Save data.id and data.defaultDatasetId from the response. Poll GET https://api.apify.com/v2/actor-runs/RUN_ID using that run ID until the run is terminal. After SUCCEEDED, fetch GET https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/DATASET_ID/items?format=json. Inspect report completion in RUN_SUMMARY as well as the run status. For FAILED, TIMED-OUT or ABORTED, inspect the saved outputs before deciding whether to start another run.
A client timeout leaves the existing run to continue; keep its run ID and check its status before submitting another request. Every new start creates a separate run.
Python
import osfrom apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])run = client.actor("E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm").start(run_input={"website": "apify.com", "reports": ["traffic_engagement", "social", "display_campaigns"]})finished = client.run(run["id"]).wait_for_finish()if finished and finished["status"] == "SUCCEEDED":for website in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(website)
JavaScript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });const run = await client.actor('E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm').start({website: 'apify.com',reports: ['traffic_engagement', 'social', 'display_campaigns'],});const finished = await client.run(run.id).waitForFinish();if (finished?.status === 'SUCCEEDED') {const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();console.log(items);}
Make.com
Use the Apify integration to start Actor ID E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm with the apify.com example input. Save the run ID and Dataset ID, then use a run-completion notification or status polling before retrieving Dataset items. Route each report by whether it contains inline data or a file_url.
n8n
Start Actor ID E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm with an HTTP Request node posting the apify.com JSON input to https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/E4aGcMycvf3cTbkgm/runs. Keep the returned run ID through a Wait/status-check loop. After completion, retrieve the Dataset, inspect report statuses, and expand the selected period arrays into the rows your destination expects.
MCP
Use Apify's MCP integration to select agentx/similarweb-pro-scraper and submit the same website and reports values. Ask the client to wait for the run, inspect report completion, and retrieve the website result and any referenced JSON files. See Apify integrations for connection options.
Pricing
A website result costs $0.02 on the FREE tier, report items cost $0.004 per started 1,000 delivered items, and the Actor Start costs $0.01, so the smallest useful run — one website with a light report selection — totals $0.034. The run uses 512 MB of memory and the Actor Start bills one event per GB with a one-event minimum, so a default run bills exactly one $0.01 start.
| Event | FREE | BRONZE | SILVER | GOLD / PLATINUM / DIAMOND |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Website Result | $0.02000 | $0.01800 | $0.01600 | $0.01500 |
| Report Items (per 1,000) | $0.00400 | $0.00360 | $0.00320 | $0.00300 |
| Actor Start | $0.01 | $0.01 | $0.01 | $0.01 |
The bill follows the data you select. Summary pages such as traffic_engagement or social return hundreds of items, so a run selecting them costs about $0.03. The detailed keyword, landing-page and backlink pages return tens of thousands of items: on apify.com, keywords alone delivered 158,433 items ($0.636 in report items), and all 27 pages delivered 363,549 items for $1.486 on the FREE tier ($1.117 on GOLD). Items are counted once per unique section item, even when a section appears under two selected pages.
Set a maximum cost per run in Apify to cap the bill: the Actor stops collecting before the report items would exceed that budget, saves the website result with the items already collected, and marks the stopped section charge_limit in RUN_SUMMARY. A website the source holds no data for ends with the status unknown_site and bills only the Actor Start. The data comes from Similarweb Pro report pages, which is why this Actor is priced above public overview lookups.
Prices can change — the current published figures are on the Actor's pricing tab, and Apify explains the pay-per-event model in its Store pricing documentation.
Use Cases
Agency reporting. Compare traffic engagement and social sources for a client website, carrying each section's reporting period into the presentation. Keep source-estimated visits distinct from the client's own analytics.
SEO opportunity research. Analyze keywords, keyword_clusters and landing_pages together. Retain each keyword's source measures and each landing-page snapshot's month when prioritizing content work.
Advertising research. Combine paid_keywords, search_ads, display_campaigns and display_ads to review the source's observed search and display activity for a domain.
Prospect qualification. Use traffic, audience and geographic data to prepare domain-level research before outreach. Read the relevant profile and reporting window so each observation has a clear basis.
Backlink review. Analyze referring domains and individual backlinks alongside the backlink overview. Separate aggregate counts from individual records when preparing summaries.
Alternatives
Choose the research workflow whose data, delivery and account controls fit your task.
| Option | Useful fit |
|---|---|
| Similarweb website interface | Interactive exploration, chart review and source-provided analysis tools. |
| Similarweb's official API | Direct source integration with documented endpoint contracts and account credit controls. |
| SEO research suites | Combined research, project management and analyst workflows within one product. |
| Similarweb Pro Scraper | Selected report pages packaged into a nested website result for Apify workflows. |
Similarweb's official API uses data credits, with consumption depending on the endpoint and requested data. Compare the required report coverage and complete task cost when choosing an integration.
Limits and Troubleshooting
Report availability depends on the website, source coverage and reporting window.
- An empty report: the source may return an empty section for that website and period. Check its status and try another relevant report page.
- Partial collection: inspect
RUN_SUMMARYfor the affected section and retain the delivered data separately from complete results. - Different totals across sections: source models and aggregation levels can differ. Compare the same metric, section, geography and period.
- An AI landing-page source window: the source has an observed 1,000-item window. Treat a
source_windowstatus as partial coverage. - A large report uses
file_url: download that JSON object and process its sections using the same period/item structure as inline data. - A run ends before final delivery: inspect the Dataset and run summary; delivery is finalized as one website result after collection. Plan dependent workflows around the terminal run and its actual saved outputs.
- A run ends with
unknown_site: the source holds no data for that domain, so no website result is saved and only the Actor Start is billed. Check the spelling, or select backlink reports, which draw on a separate index. - Very large websites with many detailed pages: keyword, landing-page and backlink walks on the largest domains can use the full one-hour run window; a section that reaches it is marked
time_exhaustedinRUN_SUMMARYand the collected data is still saved. Split detailed pages across separate runs for complete coverage. - A section marked
access_denied: the source refused that section for the Actor's Similarweb plan, as observed on the US ranking keyword tables; the other sections of the run continue and are saved. - A section marked
charge_limit: the run reached the maximum cost per run you set. Raise the limit or select fewer detailed pages to collect the rest. - A temporary access or session message: provide the run ID and selected reports to support so service access can be checked.
For a reproducible problem, open an Issue with the run ID, exact input, affected report and expected output.
Trust and Reliability
The output has four root fields and a shared schema of 138 nullable business fields inside report items. Section names, period boundaries and delivery counts help you interpret the saved data.
Similarweb metrics include modeled estimates. See Similarweb's data methodology for the source's explanation of its data inputs and modeling. Treat these metrics as source-estimated research data, and use first-party analytics for direct measurement of a website you operate.
Keep run status, report status and item counts together. A website row can contain completed sections alongside partial or empty sections; each outcome needs its own interpretation.
Legal and Compliance
Data scope. The Actor returns website-level research reports and the source-provided entities and measures within the selected pages.
Responsible use. Use the reports for purposes consistent with applicable obligations and the rights attached to the data. Apply suitable access controls when combining research data with your own customer records.
Platform terms. Review the terms governing your source-data use and Apify account before integrating exports into a downstream product or distributing them to others.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I export Similarweb data as JSON?
Start the Actor with one website and your chosen reports, wait for completion, and export the Dataset as JSON. Download report files referenced by file_url to collect the full delivered output.
Which Similarweb traffic reports can I select?
Choose website_performance, traffic_engagement, marketing_channels, audience, referral or social according to your research question. Each page groups related sections in the website result.
What does one result contain?
One result contains website, reports, processor and processed_at. Selected reports contain inline data or a JSON file link, together with an item count across their periods.
How are dates selected?
The Actor uses the reporting history available from the source. Competitor sections use up to three available months, while monthly landing-page and ranking tables retain separate monthly periods.
Can I schedule runs to monitor website traffic over time?
Use an Apify schedule with the same website and report selections, then save each completed output with processed_at. Compare like-for-like periods and metrics, since source estimates and available reporting history can change.
Is there a free Similarweb API?
Similarweb's official API uses account-based data credits. This Actor charges $0.02 per website result plus $0.004 per 1,000 delivered report items and a $0.01 Actor Start on the FREE tier, with lower prices on paid Apify plans; a summary-page run costs about $0.03.
Which inputs do I supply for access?
Supply website and reports. Service access is handled by the Actor; an access-related run message can be investigated through support using the run ID.
How should I interpret missing values and partial reports?
Preserve null as missing source data, preserve genuine zero values, and inspect each report's completion status. Use complete and partial report data as separate populations in analysis.
