Skipped over several that clearly had social media on their pages.

My software depends on your actor to pull the social details off of a lead's website. In this case, https://freemanortho.com/ has both a Facebook and Instagram on the home page and the actor missed both. It did this for several sites in one run. When I ran this site directly by itself, it still didn't produce results.

Hello SpyTower, thanks for using our actor.
We attempted to run the actor for https://freemanortho.com/, but the website did not serve any content. According to our logs, the server responded with a [403] Forbidden error. This typically means the website detected the request as coming from a bot and denied access.
Aside from logs, you can also detect forbidden access by checking the output column "prevalent_http_status_code". You can see value 403 for those websites that denied access to the actor. In case of 403 status it's expected that the actor did not extract any links, since it never received a valid page response.
We’re going to test a few different User-Agent headers and will update this thread with the results.

We just had success with the following user agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/135.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Actor successfully returned socials and contact information for the website from your example. You can set user agent by visiting Input tab and checking "Connection settings" dropdown.

Thanks for your quick replies. Much better experience than I had with another apify actor :)
Do you have recommended settings for the User Agent that you see working.... does it make sense for me to have that setting filled in instead of leaving it open?

You're very welcome — and thank you for the kind words! 😊
Just to keep things clear and predictable, our team is usually online from 08:00 to 17:00 UTC, every day of the week.
Regarding the user agent setting: for more reliable results, we recommend using a non-default value. You can even pass the user agent directly from your software call when starting an actor run. If you need guidance with setting user agent programmatically just let us know — we're happy to guide you through it.
To get started, feel free to use the user agent we provided below: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/135.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
