What does Local Business Leads (OpenStreetMap) do?

Local Business Leads is built for web design and marketing agencies that sell to local businesses. A web design agency wants every dentist and hair salon in Berlin that has no website, to sell them one. A marketing agency wants the ones that do have a website, with their public e-mail. Pick a place and categories; the Actor lists the businesses OpenStreetMap has for them (address, phone, website, e-mail, opening hours, coordinates), lets you filter for "no website", and can optionally read each business's own website for public e-mails, phones and social profiles. The result goes to your CRM, Google Sheets or e-mail with an Apify integration or webhook. Everything comes from free open data: no proxy, no Google Maps scraping, no key.

Per business you get:

  • 🏪 name, category, OSM tags of interest (cuisine, brand, speciality ...)
  • 📍 address (street, number, postcode, city), latitude and longitude
  • ☎️ phone, website, e-mail and opening hours when mapped
  • 🔗 OSM id and link
  • 📇 contacts from the business website when you switch enrichment on
  • © attribution "© OpenStreetMap contributors" in every row

Who is it for?

  • Web design agencies: businesses without a website (Website filter: Without a website).
  • Marketing, SEO and reputation agencies: businesses with a website, plus their public contacts.
  • Local service sellers (payments, insurance, software for dentists and salons): a list of every shop in a category and city.

How to use it

  1. Click Try for free: dentists in Leipzig without a website, up to 50, no enrichment (fast).
  2. Set the Area (a place name or a bounding box) and Categories (dentist, hair salon, restaurant ... or raw tags such as shop=bakery).
  3. Choose the Website filter; optionally switch on Read websites for public contacts.
  4. Set Maximum businesses (up to 20,000), save as a task and schedule it if you want regular lists.

How much does it cost?

This Actor uses pay per event:

EventPrice
Business returned$0.002 per business
Contacts enriched (only when an e-mail or phone was found on the business's website)$0.003 per business
Info and error rowsfree
  • 500 dentists without a website cost $1.00. With enrichment and contacts found for 200 of them: $1.60.
  • Apify also charges a tiny standard start fee per run. Set Maximum cost per run to cap spending.

Data sources and terms

  • OpenStreetMap data via the Overpass API (overpass-api.de, with the kumi.systems mirror as fallback), one query at a time with a timeout, and Nominatim to find the area (at most one request per second, identifying User-Agent with contact, answers cached for 30 days). Follows the Nominatim usage policy and the Overpass fair-use guidelines.
  • Data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you publish or share a database made from it, you must credit OpenStreetMap and keep the licence (see https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright). The attribution is in every row.
  • Website enrichment reads only the business's own public pages (robots.txt respected). Business e-mails can be personal data: follow GDPR/ePrivacy or your local rules when you contact people.
  • This Actor is not affiliated with the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

Limitations

  • OpenStreetMap is volunteer-made: coverage and freshness vary by country and city. A business with no website in OSM may well have one. Check before you call someone "a business without a website".
  • Not every business has phone, e-mail or opening hours mapped.
  • Only named businesses are returned. Very large areas with common categories are limited by Maximum businesses; the Overpass servers may refuse very large queries (the Actor then returns a free error row).
  • Contact enrichment finds only public e-mails and phones on the home page and its contact, legal and about pages.

FAQ

Is this a Google Maps scraper?

No. It uses OpenStreetMap, which is open data and needs no proxy. It has fewer businesses than Google Maps in some places and more freedom in how you may use the data (with attribution).

How do I find only businesses I can sell a website to?

Set Website filter to "Without a website". The filter looks at the OSM tags website, contact:website and url.

Can I search a whole country?

Yes, but use a tight category and a Maximum businesses; Overpass may time out on huge areas. Splitting by region is more reliable.
