Comments field returns null due to recent changes in YouTube layout or scraping process.

Starting from June 9, 2025, the actor consistently returns a null value for the “comments” parameter. This issue might be caused by recent modifications either in YouTube’s page layout or the scraping workflow.

Hi, thanks for opening this issue!

Sorry, this is a confusing output format. Ignore the comments field, we will remove it. Use the commentsCount field to get the count in a number format.

You probably got the two confused, the comments field was never used and always outputs a value of null, that's why we want to remove it.

I will keep you updated here with the removal, thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. That makes sense now.

However, I’ve noticed another issue that I believe is being tracked in a new ticket: the "subtitles" field is returning null (it was working before, at least until 2025-06-09).

I will leave a comment/upvote on that new ticket to confirm that I’m experiencing the same problem (the parameter value is empty for me too).

Thanks for joining that issue. We will prioritize it more since there are more users with the same problem :)

Hi again! I believe this has been solved: there is no comments in the output anymore. Regarding subtitles, it has too been fixed, see this changelog entry: https://console.apify.com/actors/h7sDV53CddomktSi5/information/latest/changelog#2025-06-11
