The bug has been caused by a change on YouTube. We will investigate this and fix it shortly :)

Today I have experience lack of subtitles too. The strange thing is that it happen three times in a row, then it downloaded successfully, then it happen again.
Hi Matt, thanks for sharing your insides. It looks like an A/B test from YouTube, so it can happen randomly that you only get them sometimes. Still, it's something we will have to fix.

Just jumping in here that I’m having issue reliably getting subtitles as well. It seems the fail about 1/3 of the time, especially when doing multiple via a playlist. Single is a bit more reliable.

Hi everyone! Again, thanks for patience. Recently we've changed our proxies so subtitles should be scraped reliably now. We're monitoring this with our automated testing and so far didn't encounter missing subtitle cases, but would like to hear from you - do you still have problems with this? If not, I'll close this issue soon
