What this Actor does
Give it a technology or skill (and optionally a location and industry). The Actor samples the people who have it and returns where it concentrates:
- One row per company, with how many of the sampled people work there and what share of the pool that is.
- A summary row with the total sampled and the top locations.
Instead of guessing which companies to approach for a hard-to-fill role, you see the answer: the companies where the skill actually sits, ranked.
It uses public data only, requires no cookies and no login.
Input
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
technology | string | Yes | The skill or technology to map (e.g. Kubernetes, Salesforce, Rust) |
keywords | string | No | Extra keywords to narrow the pool |
location | string[] | No | City, region, or country |
industry | string[] | No | Employer industries |
seniority | string[] | No | Optional seniority filter |
max_people | integer | No | Hard cap on people sampled — the main cost control (default 100, 1–500) |
Example:
{"technology": "Kubernetes","location": ["Germany"],"max_people": 100}
How to use it
- Enter the skill or technology.
- Optionally scope by location and industry.
- Click Start.
- Read the company rows top-down — those are the deepest pools of that skill.
Output
One row per company, plus a summary row:
{"schemaVersion": "1.0","checkedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00","insightType": "company_concentration","technology": "Kubernetes","companyName": "Globex","peopleCount": 14,"share": 0.14,"totalSampled": 100,"locations": [],"collectedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00"}
The summary row (insightType: "summary") carries peopleCount = total sampled and locations = the top locations.
The OUTPUT key-value-store record reports the technology, people sampled, companies with the skill, and top locations.
Pricing
| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.05 |
| Skill insight | $0.03 |
You pay per insight row. A 100-person sample producing 30 company rows is about $1.00.
Common uses
- Hard-to-fill roles — find the companies that actually hold the skill.
- Market intelligence — see where a technology's talent clusters geographically.
- Recruiting targeting — approach the deepest pools first.
- Vendor and partner research — map the ecosystem around a technology.
Limits
- Results reflect the searchable index for that skill, not every person who has it.
shareis the share of the sampled pool, not of the whole market.- Companies with very few sampled people appear lower; raise
max_peoplefor a wider read. - One skill per run.
Automation
