Viator is a Tripadvisor company and one of the largest marketplaces for tours, attractions, day trips, and things to do, with hundreds of thousands of bookable experiences in destinations all over the world. Travel agencies, tour operators, and analysts follow Viator to understand prices, demand, and competition in a destination.

This actor collects the same public information you see on each Viator tour page and turns it into a ready-to-use dataset. You can run it once, schedule it to run daily, or connect it to your own tools.

How to scrape Viator step by step

1. Paste one or more Viator URLs into Start URLs, or type keywords into Search queries.
2. Set Maximum number of results to how many tours you want per URL or per query.
3. Pick the Currency you want the prices in.
4. Click Start and wait for the run to finish.
5. Download your data in JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML from the Output tab.

Supported pages: destination pages (https://www.viator.com/Dubai/d828-ttd), category pages (https://www.viator.com/Dubai-tours/Day-Trips/d828-g5), attraction pages (https://www.viator.com/Dubai-attractions/Burj-Al-Arab-Jumeirah/d828-a1615), search result pages (https://www.viator.com/searchResults/all?text=louvre), and single tour pages (https://www.viator.com/tours/...). A list URL that ends with a page number starts from that page.
• Search queries: keywords to search on Viator, such as a city, an attraction, or an activity. Each query is scraped separately.
• Maximum number of results: how many tours to collect for each start URL or search query. Set 0 for no limit. A tour URL always returns one tour.
• Currency: the currency of every price in the results (29 currencies, US Dollar by default).
• Proxy configuration: residential proxies are required, because Viator blocks datacenter and server IPs. The default setting already uses them.

You can use start URLs, search queries, or both in the same run.

Notes

• Residential proxies are required. Viator blocks datacenter and server IPs, so keep the default proxy setting.
• Tour options show the "from" price and start times for the next date the tour is available (tourOptionsDate). Options that are sold out on that date are still listed, with available: false and no price.
• The filters in the Viator sidebar (duration, price, rating, time of day, language, sort order) are not applied, because Viator keeps them in your browser and not in the URL. Use category or attraction pages to narrow the results.
• Viator search returns at most 200 tours per keyword, and it matches by meaning, so even unusual keywords return related tours.
• A tour that appears in several start URLs or queries is saved only once.
• Some tours have no description or highlights on Viator, so those fields are null or empty.
• Text is returned in English.

FAQ

How many results can I scrape?

You can set any number in Maximum number of results, or 0 for no limit. The actor keeps going until it reaches your limit or runs out of tours. See Notes for the limit of Viator search.

Do I need a Viator account?

No. The actor only collects publicly available data. You do not need to log in or provide any account details.

Can I scrape data on a schedule?

Yes. Use Apify Schedules to run the actor every hour, day, or week, and track prices and availability over time.

Why are some fields empty?

Some tours simply do not show every piece of information, such as a video, a pickup area, or a description. When a field is not available on Viator, it is returned as null or an empty list.

Can I request a new feature or filter?

Yes. Right now the actor supports start URLs, search queries, and the currency. If you need other filters or inputs, such as travel dates, number of travelers, or reviews, get in touch and they can be added.
