Check EU appliance, electronics and tyre listings for energy label gaps. The EU Energy Label Checker recognises product groups such as washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, TVs, monitors, light sources, tumble dryers and tyres, then flags listings with no energy class, old A+++ to D classes on groups that were rescaled to A-G, tyre classes outside A-E, and listings that don't reference the label or product information sheet. It also extracts EPREL registration numbers. Click Start with the prefilled example to see it work.

This is an automated screen of listing text, not a legal determination. It can't see label images or check the EPREL database, and rules differ by product group and date. A clean result doesn't mean a listing meets the rules. Not legal advice; every row carries this disclaimer and a timestamp.

What does the EU Energy Label Checker do?

  • ✅ Missing energy class for product groups that need an energy label in online sales (Regulation 2017/1369).
  • ✅ Outdated scales: A+++, A++ or A+ classes on rescaled groups (washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, TVs, monitors, light sources, tumble dryers).
  • ✅ Tyre labels: classes outside the A-E scale and missing wet grip or noise values (Regulation 2020/740).
  • ✅ Label or fiche not referenced: no mention of the label, product information sheet or EPREL.
  • ✅ Accessory filter so dishwasher tablets, TV mounts, phone cases and lamp shades aren't treated as appliances.
  • ✅ Used and refurbished items become info rows.
  • ✅ Output per row: productGroup, energyClass, classScale, labelReferenced, eprelId, riskLevel, issueCount, issues (ruleId, severity, message, quote, sourceUrl, fixHint), checkedAt and a disclaimer.

Who is it for?

  • Amazon EU, Otto, MediaMarkt, Cdiscount and Bol sellers checking listings before they go live.
  • Brands and distributors auditing retailer pages for their products.
  • Marketplace compliance teams screening electronics and appliance catalogs.
  • Market surveillance researchers measuring label gaps online.

How to check appliance listings for EU energy labels

  1. Click Start with the prefilled example (a washing machine with an old A+++ class, a TV with no class, a fridge with a rescaled class and label reference, and a tyre missing wet grip and noise).
  2. Replace the input with your own: title, category, description, features, specifications and optional energyClass.
  3. Or enter a Dataset ID from an Amazon, Otto, MediaMarkt, Cdiscount, Idealo or other electronics scraper. Common fields are detected automatically; use Field map for nested ones.
  4. Turn on Only save rows with findings to skip clean rows; you only pay for saved rows.
  5. Export results as CSV, Excel or JSON, or fetch them through the API.

How much does it cost to check energy labels?

This Actor uses pay-per-event pricing: $0.002 per product saved plus a $0.00005 start fee per run, plus small platform usage paid by you (a few hundredths of a cent for small runs). That's about $2.00 for 1,000 products and $20.00 for 10,000 plus usage. With Only save rows with findings on, rows without findings aren't saved or charged. You can set a maximum cost per run in the run options.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

  • Run it and get results in one call: https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/ultimatemc~energy-label-listing-checker/run-sync-get-dataset-items
  • Use it from AI agents through the Apify MCP server: https://mcp.apify.com?tools=ultimatemc/energy-label-listing-checker
  • Schedule it after a daily scraper run, send flagged rows to Slack or email with webhooks, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets.
  • Chain it after any electronics or marketplace scraper by passing the scraper's dataset ID.

How it works

Product groups are detected from titles and categories in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian, with accessory exclusions. Rescaling dates and scales come from Regulation (EU) 2017/1369, the Commission's rescaling overview, Delegated Regulations 2023/1669 and 2023/2534 and the tyre Regulation 2020/740, checked on 2026-11-02. Specification keys and values are read together. No AI and no external calls.

FAQ

Why is A+++ flagged?

Washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, TVs and monitors were rescaled to A-G in March 2021 (light sources in September 2021, tumble dryers from 2025). An A+++ class on those groups points to an old label.

Do ovens and air conditioners still use A+++?

Yes, some groups still use the older scale, so they aren't flagged for it.

Are dishwasher tablets flagged?

No. Consumables and accessories are excluded.

Does it check EPREL?

No. It extracts EPREL numbers from text so you can look them up.

Is it AI?

No. It's a fixed set of rules, so the same input always gives the same result.

Limitations

  • Text only; label images aren't read.
  • EPREL isn't queried.
  • Groups without a rescaled label or with special rules are only partly covered.
