Get clean stats for open-source packages in four ecosystems, Rust (crates.io), Ruby (RubyGems), PHP (Packagist) and .NET (NuGet), in one run. Rows include the latest version, total and recent downloads, version count, license, description, keywords or tags, dependencies, release dates, homepage, repository, documentation and registry links. Packagist adds GitHub stars, forks, open issues and dependents; NuGet adds verified-prefix, deprecation and vulnerability flags. Search by keyword or list packages directly. Uses each registry's official public API. No login.

Who is it for?

  • Developers and tech leads comparing libraries before adopting them.
  • Developer-tool companies and DevRel tracking adoption of their own and competing packages.
  • Security and compliance teams auditing licenses and deprecated packages.
  • Analysts and investors measuring open-source traction across languages.

How to use it

  1. Add package names for any registry: Rust crates, Ruby gems, PHP packages (vendor/name) and .NET packages.
  2. Optionally type a search keyword and choose which registries to search in.
  3. Click Start and export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or schedule weekly to track downloads.

Input example

{"crates": ["serde", "tokio"], "rubyGems": ["rails"], "packagistPackages": ["laravel/framework"], "nugetPackages": ["Newtonsoft.Json"], "search": "http client"}

Output example

{"ecosystem": "crates", "package": "serde", "latestVersion": "1.0.229", "license": "MIT OR Apache-2.0", "downloadsTotal": 1591252662, "downloadsRecent90Days": 384060981, "versionCount": 316, "repository": "https://github.com/serde-rs/serde", "url": "https://crates.io/crates/serde"}

How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee per package returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee, with no subscription and no separate platform usage costs. For example, 1,000 packages cost about $1. Packages that are not found are not charged. Set Maximum cost per run to cap your spending.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

FAQ

Is it legal? Yes. It reads public package metadata from the registries' official APIs, with an identifying User-Agent and at most one request per second per registry, following crates.io's crawler policy. Author, owner and maintainer names are not collected.

Do you support npm and PyPI? Yes, in our separate npm & PyPI Package Stats tool.

What are "recent downloads"? crates.io counts the last 90 days; Packagist gives monthly and daily numbers.
