Fresh business registrations pulled straight from official state open-data portals (Socrata): the day an LLC, corporation or nonprofit appears on the public record, you get the entity name, filing date, type, status, registered agent, public business address and a link back to the source record. No login, no scraping of websites, no LLM, no proxies.
Typical uses: B2B prospecting for banks, accountants, insurers, web and software agencies, payroll and registered-agent services, commercial real estate and equipment lessors, who all want to reach a company in its first weeks.
What is Business Filings Delta Feed: New LLCs and Corporations by State?
A business filings delta feed of new LLCs and corporations from official Secretary of State open data (CO, NY, OR, CT). Each record has name, filing date, type, status, registered agent, public address and source link. Filter by state, type or keyword; deduped across runs. No login. Run it from the Apify Console, the API or a schedule, and export the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.
Run in 30 seconds
- Open the prefilled run (free Apify account; it creates a saved task with a working input).
- Press Start. The input is small on purpose, so the first run is quick and costs a few cents at most.
- Open the Output tab, switch to Table view, download as CSV, Excel or JSON.
Prefilled input:
{"states": ["CO","NY","OR","CT"],"daysBack": 7,"activeOnly": true,"maxItems": 3,"onlyNewSinceLastRun": false,"stateStoreName": "new-business-filings-seen"}
Ready-made presets by use case (each opens as a saved task you can edit):
Why choose this over alternatives
- Official state open data from CO, NY, OR and CT in one schema.
- Name, filing date, entity type, status, registered agent, public address and a source link.
- Deduplicated across runs, so a daily schedule only bills new filings.
- $0.004 per filing.

Input
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| states | CO, NY, OR, CT (default CO + NY) |
| companyName | name-search mode: find entities by name in the chosen states (no date window) |
| exactMatch | with companyName, match the full registered name exactly |
| maxResultsPerState | optional per-state cap (default: maxItems split evenly) |
| daysBack | formed in the last N days (default 7, max 90) |
| entityTypes | LLC, CORPORATION, NONPROFIT, PARTNERSHIP, OTHER (empty = all) |
| keywords | name must contain any keyword, for example roofing, dental, logistics |
| activeOnly | drop rejected / dissolved / withdrawn records (default on) |
| maxItems | cap on rows delivered and charged, split evenly across states (default 25) |
| onlyNewSinceLastRun | dedupe across runs by state and entity ID (default on) |
Pricing
Pay per event: $0.00005 per run start plus $0.004 per filing returned ($4 per 1,000). Rows removed by your filters, rejected records and rows already delivered in an earlier run (dedupe) are never charged. Set a max charge on the run and the actor stops when it is reached.
Apify's free plan includes $5 of monthly platform credit, which covers about 1,000 business filings with this actor (at $0.004 per result, plus small platform usage). Paid Apify plans get the same data with no monthly cap; scheduled daily runs stay cheap because each run only returns new records.
Use cases
- B2B sales to new businesses: banking, insurance, payroll, accounting and web services.
- Registered agents and formation services: watch new filings by state and entity type.
- Researchers: track business formation by state and keyword.
- Daily feeds: schedule with
onlyNewSinceLastRunto get only filings you have not seen.
Coverage
| State | Portal | Registered agent | Address | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CO Colorado | data.colorado.gov | yes | principal office | yes |
| NY New York | data.ny.gov | where filed | service-of-process address | no |
| OR Oregon | data.oregon.gov | yes | principal place of business | no |
| CT Connecticut | data.ct.gov | not published | business address | yes |
Checked and not available as an open-data API today: Iowa (Iowa Data Hub no longer exposes the entity table over SODA), Washington (the SOS corporations table is not published as an API dataset). They will be added if a public feed appears.
Freshness: CO, NY and CT publish within about a day. Oregon's open dataset lags roughly one to two weeks, so use daysBack 14 or more to see Oregon rows.
Data and compliance notice
- Only the public business record is returned: the fields the state itself publishes as open data. Business email addresses and owner contact details that some portals expose are deliberately dropped. A registered agent is a public role on the filing (often a commercial agent company); an individual's name appears only where the state publishes it as the agent of record.
- Use the data for business-to-business outreach to the entity. You are responsible for your own compliance: in the US, commercial email must follow CAN-SPAM (accurate sender identity, a physical address, a working opt-out honored within 10 business days); calls and texts are subject to the TCPA and state do-not-call rules. Do not use this data for consumer profiling, eligibility decisions, or contacting a person at a home address as a consumer.
- The data comes from state open-data portals and is provided as is; states publish with delays and may correct or remove records.
Use from AI agents (MCP, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity)
New Business Filings works as a tool for AI assistants through the official Apify MCP server. Add this server URL to any MCP client (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT connectors, VS Code):
https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings
Claude Desktop / Cursor config:
{"mcpServers": {"apify": {"url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>" }}}}
Then ask in plain language, for example: "Where can I get a daily list of new LLCs?"
Call it directly over HTTP (runs the actor and returns the dataset items in one request):
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/transparent_meteorite~new-business-filings/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"states": ["CO", "NY", "OR", "CT"], "daysBack": 7, "maxItems": 20}'
Python:
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")run = client.actor("transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings").call(run_input={"states": ["CO", "NY", "OR", "CT"], "daysBack": 7, "maxItems": 20})for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(item)
The same actor works in n8n, Make, Zapier, LangChain, LlamaIndex and CrewAI through their Apify integrations.
Use it from code
Small real input: it returns only a couple of rows, so a test run costs very little (see Pricing). Set the APIFY_TOKEN environment variable to your token from Apify Console > Settings > API & Integrations.
Python (pip install apify-client)
import osfrom apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])run_input = {'states': ['CO'], 'daysBack': 7, 'maxItems': 2, 'onlyNewSinceLastRun': False}run = client.actor("transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings").call(run_input=run_input)for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(item)
JavaScript / Node.js (npm install apify-client)
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });const input = {"states": ["CO"],"daysBack": 7,"maxItems": 2,"onlyNewSinceLastRun": false};const run = await client.actor('transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings').call(input);const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();console.log(items);
curl (runs the actor and returns the dataset items in one call)
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/transparent_meteorite~new-business-filings/run-sync-get-dataset-items" \-H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"states": ["CO"], "daysBack": 7, "maxItems": 2, "onlyNewSinceLastRun": false}'
Send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or n8n
- Google Sheets: every run's dataset has a CSV export link:
https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/<DATASET_ID>/items?format=csv&clean=true(the dataset ID is on the run's Storage tab). In Sheets,=IMPORTDATA("<that link>")loads it. Anyone with the link can read that dataset, so share it carefully. To export to Google Drive automatically, use the Google Drive integration on the actor's Integrations tab. - Zapier: in the Apify app, use the trigger Finished Actor run (or Run Actor as an action) with
transparent_meteorite/new-business-filings, then Fetch dataset items and pass the rows to Google Sheets, a CRM or Slack. - Make: the Apify app has Watch Actor Runs, Run an Actor and Get Dataset Items modules; connect them to any Make app.
- n8n: install the Apify node (
@apify/n8n-nodes-apify) and use Run an Actor and get dataset, or the On new Apify event trigger. - Schedule and webhooks: create a Task with your input, add a Schedule in Apify Console, and add a webhook if you want a call when a run finishes.
See the Apify integrations docs for setup steps.
Limits and behavior
Requests are serial and spaced (at least 350 ms apart) with backoff on 429/5xx. If one state portal is down the others still deliver, and the run output notes the warning in the OUTPUT record.
Reliability
Last 30 days, measured from Apify run records (all runs, including our own daily health checks): 16 of 16 finished runs succeeded (100.0%), median run time 2.8 s (90th percentile 4.4 s). Aborted runs (0) are not counted.
Updated 2026-10-11 automatically every week from the run history. Report any failure on the Issues tab with the run URL.

FAQ
This Actor vs silentshadow55/newbiz-filings-actor: that one covers 8 states, including Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania. This one links every row to the official source record and dedupes across runs.
More questions
Where can I get a daily list of new LLCs?
Run this actor with states and daysBack. It reads the official state open-data portals and returns one row per new filing.
Which states are covered? Colorado, New York, Oregon and Connecticut.
Does it include owner emails or phone numbers? No. It returns only the public fields each state publishes, which do not include personal phone or email.
Can I filter by entity type or name?
Yes: entityTypes, keywords and activeOnly.
How this compares
These records are free on each state's open-data portal. This actor queries several states with one input, normalizes the fields and remembers what you already received. Commercial new-business lists may cover all states and add contact data; this actor covers four states and only public fields.
