What is X Tweet Scraper?

X Tweet Scraper returns the full public details of X (Twitter) posts from their URLs or ids. For each tweet you get the text, language, date, like and reply counts, author (name, username, blue check, affiliation badge, profile picture), hashtags, mentions, expanded links, photos, videos with a direct MP4 link, link-preview card, X article title, and the quoted or replied-to tweet. It reads the same public data X's own embed widget uses, so it needs no login, no cookies and no API key. $0.50 per 1,000 tweets.

Use it to enrich tweet links you already have (from Google results, spreadsheets, social listening exports, news articles), check engagement on a list of posts, archive tweets with their media, or download tweet videos.

How much does it cost?

Pay per result: $0.0005 per tweet ($0.50 per 1,000), with volume discounts on paid Apify plans. Deleted, protected or unknown tweets and invalid links are listed in the ERRORS record and cost nothing. Set Maximum cost per run to cap spend.

Limits

  • It needs the tweet's URL or id. It does not search X or list a profile's tweets: without a login, X no longer serves search or timelines.
  • Retweet, quote, bookmark and view counts are not in X's public embed data, so only likes and replies are returned.
  • Long posts (over 280 characters, isLongTweet: true) come with the first part of the text only.
  • Tweets from protected, suspended or age-restricted accounts, and deleted tweets, cannot be read.
  • The Actor starts without a proxy and moves to Apify Residential proxy only if X rate-limits the run.

Using X Tweet Scraper with AI agents

The Actor is pay-per-event with limited permissions, so AI agents can call it through Apify's MCP server (mcp.apify.com), for example with {"tweets": ["https://x.com/NASA/status/2104695667180380260"]}. It also accepts tweetUrls, tweetIds, ids, url, urls and startUrls.

FAQ

Is this allowed? The Actor reads the public data X serves to its embed widget for any website. Check that your use of the data is allowed where you are, and respect X's terms for any content you republish.

Can I download the videos? Yes: media[].videoUrl is the highest-quality MP4 file.

Part of the webdatatools web-intelligence suite — every Actor is pay-per-event, reads public data without a login, and returns one clean row per entity:
