Pinterest Pins Scraper

Pinterest Pins Scraper extracts the latest pins from any public Pinterest profile or board. This Actor reads Pinterest's own public RSS feeds — no login, no API key, no browser — and returns one clean row per pin with its title, description, image and publish date.

What is the Pinterest Pins Scraper?

The Pinterest Pins Scraper is a lightweight data-extraction tool that turns a Pinterest username or board URL into structured pin data. It calls the same public RSS feed Pinterest exposes for every public profile (/<user>/feed.rss) and board (/<user>/<board>.rss), parses the XML, and returns pin ID, title, description, image URL, link and publish date as dataset rows. Because it hits a public, unauthenticated feed rather than the Pinterest web app, it needs no proxy or headless browser and runs in a few seconds per source.

What data does the Pinterest Pins Scraper extract?

One dataset row per pin, with the following fields:

FieldTypeDescription
pinIdstringThe numeric Pinterest pin ID, e.g. 142567144448951872
urlstringThe canonical pin page URL, built from the pin ID
titlestringThe pin's title/caption text
descriptionstringPlain-text description (HTML stripped out of the RSS description)
imageUrlstringThe pin's image at 736px wide — the largest size reliably available on every pin (see Limitations)
linkstringThe raw <link> URL exactly as Pinterest's RSS feed returned it
publishedAtstringWhen the pin was published (ISO 8601 UTC)
sourceProfilestringThe Pinterest username this pin came from
sourceBoardstring or nullThe board slug this pin came from, or null for a profile-level pin
scrapedAtstringTimestamp of the scrape (ISO 8601 UTC)

How to use the Pinterest Pins Scraper

  1. Enter profiles: Add one or more Pinterest usernames or profile URLs, e.g. nasa or https://www.pinterest.com/nasa/. Each profile returns its latest pins.
  2. Enter boards (optional): Add one or more Pinterest board URLs, e.g. https://www.pinterest.com/nasa/earth/. Each board returns its latest pins.
  3. Set the pin limit: maxPinsPerSource controls how many pins to keep per profile/board (default and max 25 — see Limitations).
  4. Run the Actor. Pins from every profile and board are combined into one dataset.

You can also skip the profiles/boards arrays entirely and pass a single url, profile or username, or a mixed urls/startUrls list — each string is classified automatically as a profile or a board by counting path segments (/user/ = profile, /user/board/ = board).

Example input

{
"profiles": ["nasa", "spacex"],
"boards": ["https://www.pinterest.com/nasa/earth/"],
"maxPinsPerSource": 25
}

This scrapes up to 25 latest pins each from the NASA and SpaceX profiles, plus up to 25 latest pins from NASA's "Earth" board.

Example output

{
"pinId": "142567144448951872",
"url": "https://www.pinterest.com/pin/142567144448951872/",
"title": "Claim your pixel on one of the first images from NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope!",
"description": "Claim your pixel on one of the first images from NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope!",
"imageUrl": "https://i.pinimg.com/736x/03/2c/95/032c95d3b48830a5620cb8df01fe934c.jpg",
"link": "https://www.pinterest.com/pin/142567144448951872/",
"publishedAt": "2026-09-03T13:52:00.000Z",
"sourceProfile": "nasa",
"sourceBoard": null,
"scrapedAt": "2026-09-28T09:02:20.757Z"
}

Input parameters

  • profiles (array, default: ["nasa"]): Pinterest usernames or profile URLs to scrape.
  • boards (array, default: []): Pinterest board URLs to scrape.
  • maxPinsPerSource (integer, default: 25, max: 25): Maximum pins to keep per profile or board. Pinterest's public RSS feed only exposes the latest ~25 pins, so this cannot go higher.
  • profile / username / url (string aliases): a single profile or board reference, merged into profiles/boards.
  • urls / startUrls (array aliases): a mixed list of profile and board URLs, merged the same way.

Pricing

The Pinterest Pins Scraper costs $0.0005 per pin (with volume discounts on higher plans). A run collecting 25 pins from one profile costs about $0.0125.

Pinterest Pins Scraper vs. a full Pinterest browser scraper

A browser-based Pinterest scraper has to load the JavaScript web app, scroll and fight bot detection, which is slow and needs a proxy. This Actor instead reads Pinterest's own public RSS feed directly — no browser, no proxy, no login — so it is faster and cheaper per pin, at the cost of only returning each source's most recent pins rather than a full board history, and no keyword search (see Limitations).

Using the Pinterest Pins Scraper with AI agents and MCP

This Actor works with AI agents through the Apify MCP server. An agent can call it like:

"profiles": ["nasa"],
"maxPinsPerSource": 25

and get back structured pin data (title, description, image, date) ready to summarize, cluster by topic, or monitor for new posts — no extra parsing step needed.

FAQ

Q: Can I search Pinterest by keyword? A: No. Pinterest blocks keyword search for anonymous (non-logged-in) clients, so this Actor only supports named profiles and boards, not search queries.

Q: Can I get more than 25 pins per profile/board? A: No. Pinterest's public RSS feed itself only returns the latest pins (around 25) — this is a limit of the feed, not a choice this Actor makes. Run the Actor again later to pick up newly published pins.

Q: What happens if a profile doesn't exist or a board is private? A: The Actor logs a warning and records the failure (URL, HTTP status, and source) in a separate ERRORS key-value store — it is never added to the paid dataset, so you are never charged for a source that failed.

Q: Why does imageUrl say 736px instead of the original full-size image? A: Testing showed the /originals/ image size returns HTTP 403 for some pins while /736x/ returns 200 for all of them, so this Actor always upgrades the RSS feed's /236x/ thumbnail to the reliable /736x/ size.

Q: Does this work with n8n, Make or Zapier? A: Yes — call the Actor through Apify's API or its native integrations, and use profiles/boards as the input fields in your workflow.

Q: Does this work for private profiles or boards? A: No. Only public profiles and public boards expose an RSS feed; private ones return an error that is logged, not charged.
