What does Yahoo Finance Scraper do?
Yahoo Finance Scraper turns a list of ticker symbols into clean JSON: live stock quotes, historical prices (OHLCV bars with dividends and splits), fundamentals (company profile, key statistics, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow lines), option chains and latest news. It works as a Yahoo Finance API you call from code, a schedule or an AI agent, with no API key of your own.
It covers stocks on any exchange Yahoo lists, ETFs, mutual funds, indices, crypto, forex pairs and futures. You choose the data with the modules setting, and every ticker and module comes back as one row. A whole 10-year price history is one row, and so is a full option chain, so long histories cost the same as a single quote.
Why use it?
- Portfolio and watchlist tracking: refresh prices, market cap, P/E and 52-week ranges for hundreds of tickers in one run.
- Backtesting and research: pull daily, weekly or intraday price history with adjusted closes, dividends and splits.
- Screening and valuation: compare sector, margins, growth, analyst targets and the annual (about four years) and quarterly (about five quarters) statement lines Yahoo publishes.
- Options analysis: get every call and put for an expiry with bid, ask, volume, open interest and implied volatility.
- News alerts: schedule the Actor with Only new news turned on and get only the articles you have not seen yet.
- AI agents: one call answers "what is NVDA trading at and what did it report last quarter?".

How to get Yahoo Finance data
- Open the Actor on Apify and click Try for free.
- Enter your Tickers, one per line, using Yahoo symbols (AAPL, BRK-B, VOD.L, ^GSPC, BTC-USD, EURUSD=X).
- Pick the Data to get: quote, history, fundamentals, options, news, or several.
- For history, choose a range and interval or set start and end dates. For options, leave the expiry empty for the nearest one or enter a date.
- Click Start, then download the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the Apify API.
How much does it cost?
You pay $0.90 per 1,000 rows ($0.0009 per ticker and module), plus a tiny start fee per run. A row is a full quote, a full price history, a full fundamentals set, a full option chain or a news list, whatever its size.
- 100 tickers with a quote: about $0.09.
- 50 tickers with quote, 10-year history and fundamentals: 150 rows, about $0.14.
- Unknown tickers, tickers with no options, empty ranges and other errors are free.
- With Only new news, a ticker with no new articles costs nothing.
On the Apify free plan, the $5 monthly credit covers about 5,000 rows.

Tips
- Use Yahoo's own symbols: exchange suffixes such as
.L(London),.TO(Toronto),.NS(India NSE),.T(Tokyo),.DE(Xetra);-for share classes (BRK-B);^for indices;-USDfor crypto;=Xfor forex;=Ffor futures. - Intraday history is limited by Yahoo: 1-minute bars cover the last 7 days and other minute intervals the last 60 days.
- Index options trade under their own symbols (for example ^SPX, not ^GSPC).
- Fundamentals for ETFs, indices and crypto contain the summary and key statistics; statement lines exist for companies only.
- For a news feed, schedule the Actor every hour with Only new news on. Each ticker remembers up to 1,000 article IDs.
FAQ
Is this run by Yahoo?
No. It reads the public data that Yahoo Finance shows to any visitor. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Yahoo.
Do I need a Yahoo account, cookie or API key?
No. The Actor opens its own anonymous session. You only need an Apify account.
How many tickers can I scrape in one run?
Thousands of quotes, since quotes are fetched 40 tickers per request. The other modules take one or two requests per ticker, six at a time: in our cloud test, 41 tickers with all five modules (205 rows, 5 years of daily history each) finished in about 2 minutes, so 1,000 tickers with every module take about 45 minutes.
How fresh is the data?
Quotes are as live as Yahoo Finance shows them: real time for many US exchanges and delayed for others (the details.exchangeDataDelayedBy field says how many minutes).
Can I use it with AI agents or Make, Zapier and n8n?
Yes. Call it through the Apify API, the Apify MCP server or any Apify integration. Each row is self-contained JSON.
