Why Recently Funded Companies users pick this one
- 93-96% under funding-lead Actors. $5.00 per 1,000 filings against $70-$80.
- Real companies only. Funds, SPVs and co-invest vehicles removed by default.
- A daily feed. Free only-new mode, so no filing comes twice.

- Click Start, then download JSON, CSV or Excel, or schedule it daily and send new filings to Slack, Google Sheets, your CRM, Zapier, Make or n8n.
▶ Try it with the example input
The form opens with an example input already filled in: that run costs about $0.026 on the free plan.
How much does it cost to scrape SEC Form D filings?
Pay per event: you pay only for what the run returns, plus a small start fee. Bronze, Silver, Gold and higher Apify plans pay less per result.
| Filings | Free plan | Paid plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold) |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | $0.51 | $0.36 |
| 1,000 | $5.01 | $3.51 |
| 10,000 | $50.01 | $35.01 |
Totals include the $0.006 start fee per run, rounded to the cent. Apify's free plan includes $5 of credit a month, enough for about 1,000 filings.
Filings that do not match your filters, filings seen by an earlier run (with 'Only new filings since last run'), suppressed names and unreadable filings are not charged. A contact-result is charged only for a company whose website gave at least one email, phone, social link or named person.

Measured on the Apify cloud at 256 MB, one run per row, except rows marked local, which ran the same code on our machine. Accuracy: 10 random cloud records and 10 local records were re-read by a separate script straight from sec.gov and compared field by field. Completeness: every Form D and D/A for one filing day compared with EDGAR's daily form index.
What data you get
Recently Funded Companies turns the official SEC EDGAR Form D filings, the notices US companies file within 15 days of first selling shares, notes or SAFEs in a private round, into a clean lead list: company, state and city, industry group and sector, offering size, amount already sold, date of first sale, exemptions, revenue range, investor count, the executives, directors and promoters named on the form with their roles, and the filing link. Investment funds and SPVs are removed by default, so you get operating companies that just raised money. Turn on 'Only new filings since last run' and schedule it daily for a funding feed; optionally match each company's website and add its business emails, phones and decision-makers.

Use cases
- Sales teams selling to newly funded startups: software, recruiting, banking, insurance, office space
- Recruiters and staffing agencies reaching companies that just raised money and will hire
- VCs, angels and analysts tracking private rounds by sector and state
- Lenders, accountants and law firms finding companies at the moment they need advisers
Use-case recipes
Daily new-funding feed in Slack
For sales teams that want every new raise the morning after. Turn on 'Only new filings since last run', keep 'Filed in the last N days' at 1, drop real estate, add your Slack webhook and schedule the Actor daily. Slack gets the count and the top 10; the full rows (company_name, state, total_amount_sold, filing_url) go to Google Sheets or your CRM through Apify's integrations.
{"daysBack": 1,"excludeRealEstate": true,"incremental": true,"maxResults": 100,"slackWebhookUrl": "https://hooks.slack.com/services/T000/B000/XXXX"}
Funded startups in your territory
For B2B sellers and recruiters with a sector and region focus. Pick sectors and issuer states, set a minimum amount sold to skip tiny rounds, and look back a week. Sort the output by total_amount_sold and date_of_first_sale to call the biggest and freshest raises first; the website column feeds Company Contact Finder's domains input.
{"daysBack": 7,"sectors": ["technology","health-care"],"states": ["CA","NY","MA"],"minAmountSold": 1000000,"maxResults": 50}
Leads with business emails
For outbound teams that want a contact channel, not just a name. Turn on 'Add website contacts': each company with a confirmed website gets the business emails, phones and social links its own site publishes, charged only when something is found. Send contacts.emails to your outreach tool and put the website column into Decision Maker Finder's domains input for more of the team.
{"daysBack": 2,"excludeRealEstate": true,"enrichContacts": true,"maxResults": 50}
Fund and SPV formation tracker
For analysts and fund administrators who want the vehicles, not the startups. Switch off 'Exclude investment funds and SPVs', keep only financial services and skip the website lookup (funds are never looked up anyway). Group the output by investment_fund_type and federal_exemptions, and use total_offering_amount and investors_count to size each vehicle.
{"daysBack": 7,"excludePooledFunds": false,"sectors": ["financial-services"],"findWebsite": false,"maxResults": 100}
Input
| Field | Type | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
daysBack (Filed in the last N days) | integer | Form D filings filed today (UTC) and on the N days before. | 1 |
maxResults (Max filings) | integer | Stop after this many filings, newest first. | 200 |
excludePooledFunds (Exclude investment funds and SPVs) | boolean | Drop pooled investment funds, venture/PE fund vehicles and SPVs (industry 'Pooled Investment Fund' or an Investment Company Act 3(c) exclusion)... | true |
excludeRealEstate (Exclude real-estate offerings) | boolean | Drop real-estate issuers (commercial, residential, construction, REITs), most of them single-property LLCs. | false |
sectors (Sectors) | array | Keep only these sectors (from the Form D industry group). | |
states (Issuer states) | array | Two-letter codes of the issuer's principal place of business. |
All 15 fields, with examples: see the Input tab.

pink_comic/sec-form-d-startup-funding-leads input | This Actor's input | Notes |
|---|---|---|
daysBack | daysBack | Same idea: today plus the N days before (1 = today and yesterday), at most 90. Theirs defaults to 7, ours to 1. |
startDate / endDate | no equivalent | We count back from today only; there is no fixed historic date range. |
maxResults | maxResults | Ours defaults to 200 and goes up to 20,000; theirs defaults to 25. |
states | states | Same two-letter codes of the issuer's principal place of business; empty includes foreign issuers. |
industries | sectors | Ours is a fixed list of 12 sectors built from Form D's industry groups, not free-text substrings. |
minAmountSold | minAmountSold | Same: amount already sold as filed, in USD. |
minOfferingAmount | minOfferingAmount | Theirs drops 'Indefinite' offerings under a positive minimum; ours keeps them. |
amendmentFilter | includeAmendments | Ours returns new filings only by default; true adds Form D/A. There is no amendments-only setting. |
query | no equivalent | No keyword, person or intermediary search: we list every new filing and filter it. |
cik / accessionNumber | no equivalent | No single-issuer or single-filing lookup; this Actor is built as a feed of new filings. |
exemptions | no equivalent | No exemption filter. Filings with a 3(c) fund exclusion are dropped by excludePooledFunds, on by default. |
maxFilingsScanned | not needed | A run reads at most 300 filings plus 50 per filing returned, so filters that match almost nothing stop on their own. |
- Funds, SPVs and co-invest vehicles are removed by default; set
excludePooledFundsto false if you want the same mix of filings you had before. - Executives, directors and promoters come back in
related_personswith name, roles and clarification only, never addresses. incremental(Only new filings since last run) has no counterpart in their Actor: repeats are skipped and not charged.- Pricing per the comparison table: $5 per 1,000 filings ($3.50 on paid plans) plus a $0.006 start fee per run, against their $2 per 1,000; website contacts are an extra charge only when something is found.
Use with AI agents (Apify MCP server, Claude, ChatGPT, n8n AI agent)
Recently Funded Companies is a ready-made tool for AI agents. Through the Apify MCP server an agent reads this Actor's input schema, fills in the input from your request, starts the run and reads the filings back. You pay the same per-result price as a run started by hand, from your own Apify account.
Example prompts
- "Find technology and health care companies in California, New York and Massachusetts that filed a Form D in the last 7 days and already sold at least 1 million dollars, and give me a table with company, city, amount sold and date of first sale"
- "List the operating companies, not funds or SPVs, that reported a private raise on SEC Form D today or yesterday, and add their websites and business emails where the company publishes them"
- "Which Texas energy companies filed a new Form D in the last 30 days for an offering of at least 5 million dollars? Show company, city, offering size, amount sold and a link to each filing"
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
Open Settings > Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies and sign in to Apify when asked. Then ask Claude one of the prompts above.
Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients
$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies"
Clients configured with JSON take the same URL:
{"mcpServers": {"apify": {"url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies"}}}
A client without Apify sign-in sends the header Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>; to run the server locally instead, use npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server --actors aurelix/recently-funded-companies with APIFY_TOKEN set.
ChatGPT
Where your ChatGPT plan offers custom connectors (developer mode), add https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies as a connector, sign in to Apify, and ask for the data in plain words.
n8n AI agent
Give an AI Agent node an MCP Client Tool with the endpoint https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies and a Bearer credential holding your Apify token. The agent can then call Recently Funded Companies whenever a workflow step needs filings; for a fixed, non-agent workflow use Apify's n8n node with Run Actor instead.
Use it from AI agents (MCP), the API or no-code
Copy this to your AI assistant
Use the Apify Actor aurelix/recently-funded-companies (Recently Funded Companies) through Apify's MCP server or API. Main input: daysBack (Filed in the last N days); maxResults (Max filings). Example input: {"daysBack": 7, "sectors": ["technology", "health-care"], "states": ["CA", "NY", "MA"], "minAmountSold": 500000, "incremental": true, "enrichContacts": true, "maxResults": 500}. Each result is one filing with fields such as accession_number, form_type, is_amendment, previous_accession_number, filing_date, company_name, cik, entity_type. It costs $5.00 per 1,000 filings on Apify's free plan plus a $0.006 start fee per run, and needs no login.
MCP server URL for this Actor: https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/recently-funded-companies (setup for each client in the section above).
API
Start a run and read the dataset with Apify's REST API or the Python and JavaScript clients:
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")run = client.actor("aurelix/recently-funded-companies").call(run_input={"daysBack": 7, "sectors": ["technology", "health-care"], "states": ["CA", "NY", "MA"], "minAmountSold": 500000, "incremental": true, "enrichContacts": true, "maxResults": 500})for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(item)
No-code: schedule it in 3 clicks
Send the results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n, Slack or any webhook URL.
- Fill in the input, then click Save as a new task.
- In the task, click Schedule and pick daily or weekly (Apify Schedules).
- Turn on Only new filings since last run so each run returns only what is new, and paste a Slack or webhook URL into Slack webhook URL / Webhook URL to get a digest of the new items (count plus the top 10) after every run.
Prefer n8n or Make? Ask in the Issues tab and we will share a ready-made workflow for it.
FAQ
Can I scrape SEC Form D filings without login?
Yes. It never logs in, so you need no SEC EDGAR account, password or cookies; only a free Apify account to run it.
Is there a SEC Form D filings API?
You can use this Actor as one. Start it with Apify's REST API or the Python and JavaScript clients and read the results as JSON (see the code above), or call it from an AI agent through MCP.
How much does it cost to scrape SEC Form D filings?
About $5.01 for 1,000 filings on Apify's free plan and $3.51 on paid plans, start fee included. The free $5 monthly credit covers about 1,000 filings.
Can I export SEC Form D filings data to Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the results as Excel, CSV, JSON, XML or HTML from the run's Storage tab, or send them to Google Sheets with Apify's Google Sheets integration or the API.
Is it legal to scrape SEC Form D filings?
It reads only public data any logged-out visitor can see: Form D filings on the SEC's EDGAR system, which are US government works in the public domain, through EDGAR's public search at the SEC's fair-access pace with a declared user-agent, and, when you turn it on, the public pages of the company's own website with robots.txt obeyed. It never logs in and never solves CAPTCHAs. Executives and directors are returned with name and role only, never their addresses. To have a record removed, open an issue on this Actor's Issues tab. You are responsible for using the data lawfully, incl. anti-spam and privacy laws; this is not legal advice.
What is charged?
One filing-result ($5 per 1,000 on the free plan, $3.50 on paid plans) per Form D filing returned. With 'Add website contacts' on, also one contact-result ($15 per 1,000) per company whose website gave at least one email, phone, social link or named person, so an enriched lead costs $20 per 1,000 ($18.50 on paid plans). Plus a $0.006 start fee per run.
What is a Form D?
A notice a company files with the SEC within 15 days of first selling securities in a private offering under Regulation D (Rule 504, 506(b) or 506(c)) or section 4(a)(5): startups raising seed or venture rounds, SAFEs and convertible notes, plus funds, SPVs and real-estate deals. It gives the issuer, its executives and directors, the industry, the offering size, the amount sold so far and the date of first sale. It does not list investors or the round's name (seed, Series A).
How fresh is it?
EDGAR publishes a Form D minutes after it is accepted, and the Actor reads EDGAR live. A company files within 15 days of its first sale, so a filing usually follows the raise by days to two weeks; date_of_first_sale gives the real date.
Why do so few companies have a website?
Form D has no website field and many issuers are single-purpose LLCs with no site. A website is returned only when the company name works as a domain and the site confirms it with the issuer's city or phone, so it is right rather than plentiful: in a 150-filing cloud run, 15 got a website and 14 of those gave business contacts.
How do I get a daily feed?
Turn on 'Only new filings since last run', keep 'Filed in the last N days' at 1 or 2 and schedule the Actor daily. Each run returns only filings not returned before with the same filters; add a Slack or webhook URL to get a digest.
What happens when a run finds nothing or stops early?
You pay only for filings returned, plus the start fee per run. If your filters match almost nothing, the run stops after reading 300 filings plus 50 per filing returned and says so in its status, so a narrow filter over 90 days does not read months of filings. If the SEC keeps answering HTTP 403 or 429 after back-off, the run stops, keeps every filing it saved and says so. The run fails only when EDGAR search fails for every day you asked for.
How are duplicates handled?
Each row is one filing, keyed by accession_number, and each filing is read once per run. With 'Only new filings since last run' on, filings returned or already checked by an earlier run with the same filters are skipped and not charged; each is remembered for 400 days after it was last seen. An amendment (Form D/A) is a separate filing with its own accession number and previous_accession_number pointing to the one it amends; amendments are left out unless you turn them on.
What happens when a run reaches Max filings?
Days are read from today backwards and, within a day, newest accession number first, so you get the newest filings. Filings the run never reached are not remembered, so with 'Only new filings since last run' on the next run picks them up. Raise 'Max filings' if your daily feed keeps hitting the limit.
Can I change filters on a daily feed without getting repeats?
The 'new since last run' memory is named after the filters (sectors, states, funds, real estate, amounts, amendments), so changing one of them starts a fresh memory and already-seen filings come back. To keep one memory across filter changes, set 'Incremental state name'. Changing 'Filed in the last N days' or 'Max filings' keeps the same memory.
What do the amount and date fields mean?
total_offering_amount is the size of the whole offering as filed; it is empty with offering_amount_indefinite true when the issuer wrote 'Indefinite'. total_amount_sold is what was sold by the time of the filing and total_remaining what is left. date_of_first_sale is empty with first_sale_yet_to_occur true when nothing was sold yet. Amounts are copied as filed in USD, so placeholder values such as 1 appear when the issuer entered them.
How is the sector chosen?
From the filing's industry group, one of Form D's 35 groups, mapped to 12 sectors: for example Computers, Telecommunications and Other Technology are technology, and Pooled Investment Fund falls under financial services. industry_group keeps the original wording, so you can filter on it more finely in your own sheet.
Does it use proxies?
No. Requests go straight to SEC EDGAR with a declared Aurelix user-agent, at most 5 per second, as the SEC's fair-access rules ask. Company websites are read directly with robots.txt obeyed. A run that shares an IP with heavy SEC users can be slowed; it backs off and, if refused, stops with what it has.
Which companies and countries does it cover?
Every issuer that files a Form D or D/A with the SEC, including foreign issuers raising from US investors. 'Issuer states' matches the two-letter code of the principal place of business on the filing; leave it empty to include foreign issuers. Companies that raise without filing a Form D are not in EDGAR, so they are not here.
Lawful use
- B2B use only: the data is what companies filed publicly with the SEC, plus business contact details companies publish on their own websites. Do not use it for consumer marketing.
- No spam: contact people only with relevant, individual business messages, identify yourself, and honour every opt-out at once.
- You are responsible for complying with the anti-spam and privacy laws that apply to you, including Canada's CASL, the US CAN-SPAM Act and the EU/UK GDPR.
- Related persons are returned with name and role only, never their addresses; an issuer street that is also a related person's address (a likely home) is left out.
- Executives, directors and promoters are returned with their roles, never their addresses or locations.
Removal requests
Anyone can ask for their name, email or domain to be removed: open an issue in this Actor's Issues tab with the name, email or domain. Requests are honoured within 7 days: the entry is added to the suppression list that every Aurelix contact Actor checks, so it is dropped from all future runs.
Limits (stated honestly)
- Form D covers only US private offerings under Regulation D and 4(a)(5): no investor names, no round name (seed, Series A), and companies that raise without filing are missing.
- Amounts are as filed; 'Indefinite' offering sizes come back as an empty total_offering_amount with offering_amount_indefinite true.
- The fund filter uses the filing's industry group, 3(c) exclusions and vehicle words in the name; a fund that files as an operating industry under a plain name is not caught, and an operating company named like a fund (e.g. 'Fund' or 'Aggregator' in its name) is dropped unless you switch the filter off.
- The issuer street is left empty when it equals a related person's address, which also happens when executives list the office as their address.
- Website match: only when the company name works as a .com, .ai, .io or .co domain and the site shows the issuer's city or phone; most small issuers get none.
- Website contacts come only from what the company publishes on its own site (up to 5 pages); sites that block crawlers in robots.txt are skipped.
- Days are EDGAR filing dates, counted back from today in UTC; 'Filed in the last N days' is capped at 90, and EDGAR search returns at most 10,000 filings per day (far above the real volume). EDGAR's daily form index lists filings by acceptance day, so it can differ by one or two: on one test day we returned 248 Form D and D/A filings, the index listed 247, and the extra one was dated that day but accepted the next.
- Pace: up to 5 SEC requests per second, about one per filing, so 1,000 filings take a few minutes; the SEC may slow runs that share an IP with heavy users.
