Get official restaurant health inspection results from the open-data portals of New York City, Chicago and Austin. Each row is one inspection, with the establishment ID, name, address, ZIP, borough, cuisine or facility type, inspection date and type, score, grade (NYC A/B/C and Austin color bands), result (Chicago Pass/Fail, NYC closures), Chicago risk level, coordinates and, optionally, the list of violations, with NYC critical flags. You can filter by name, ZIP code and date, or return only failed or low-scoring inspections. Phone numbers are not returned. No login or API key is needed.

Who is it for?

  • Food delivery, review and local-guide apps that show health grades.
  • Food-safety, pest-control, cleaning and equipment suppliers looking for restaurants that need help.
  • Franchise operators and investors monitoring locations and competitors.
  • Journalists and researchers covering food safety.

How to use it

  1. Choose cities (the default is all three).
  2. Set Inspected in last N days (the default is 90) or a date range.
  3. Optionally filter by name contains (for example "pizza") and ZIP codes, or turn on only failed or low-scoring.
  4. Click Start and export the results.

Input example

{"cities": ["new-york", "chicago"], "nameContains": "pizza", "onlyFailedOrLowScore": true, "lastDays": 365}

Output example

{"city": "Chicago", "establishmentId": "2862613", "name": "DOMINO'S PIZZA", "address": "3103 N CLARK ST", "zip": "60657", "cuisineOrType": "Restaurant", "inspectionDate": "2026-10-21", "inspectionType": "Complaint", "result": "Fail", "riskLevel": "Risk 2 (Medium)", "violationCount": 11}

How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee per inspection returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee. There is no subscription and no separate platform usage cost. For example, 1,000 inspections cost about $0.50. Searches with no matches and error rows are not charged. Use Max results per city or Maximum cost per run to cap your spending.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

FAQ

Is it legal? Yes. New York City (DOHMH), Chicago (CDPH) and Austin publish these inspection results on their official open-data portals for public reuse. Results describe businesses, and the tool drops phone numbers.

How do the scores compare? They don't, across cities. In NYC, lower scores are better (0–13 is an A). Austin scores run 0–100, with higher being better. Chicago reports Pass, Pass w/ Conditions or Fail with no score.

How fresh is it? NYC and Chicago update daily. Austin publishes with a delay of a few weeks.

Why are NYC rows grouped? NYC publishes one row per violation. The tool groups them into one row per inspection and lists the violations.
