Get recent reported crime incidents from the official open data portals of Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and Austin, in one consistent table. Each row has the city, incident or case number, date occurred, offense, offense description, category (for example felony or misdemeanor, NIBRS or FBI code), block-level location or intersection, location type, police district or precinct, neighborhood or community area, latitude and longitude, resolution or clearance status, and arrest flag (Chicago). There is also a link to the source dataset. You can filter by city, days back and offense keyword. No login or API key is needed.

Who is it for?

  • Real estate investors, agents and property platforms adding neighborhood safety context.
  • Insurance and risk analysts modeling local crime levels.
  • Journalists, researchers and civic tech developers comparing crime trends across cities.
  • Security and logistics teams checking areas around sites and routes.

How to use it

  1. Choose the cities (Chicago by default).
  2. Set Days back (the default is 30). The period counts back from each city's newest record, because some cities publish with a delay.
  3. Optionally add an offense keyword such as theft, burglary or robbery.
  4. Set Max results per city and click Start.

Input example

{"cities": ["chicago", "nyc", "sf", "seattle", "austin"], "daysBack": 7, "offenseContains": "burglary", "maxResultsPerCity": 500}

Output example

{"city": "Chicago, IL", "incidentId": "JK462824", "dateOccurred": "2026-10-24T00:00:00", "offense": "BATTERY", "offenseDescription": "SIMPLE", "category": "08B", "location": "012XX W LAKE ST", "locationType": "STREET", "district": "012", "latitude": 41.885490809, "longitude": -87.65771506, "arrest": false}

How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee per incident returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee. There is no subscription and no separate platform usage cost. For example, 1,000 incidents cost about $0.30. Searches with no matches and error rows are not charged. Use Max results per city or Maximum cost per run to cap your spending.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

FAQ

Is it legal? Yes. Each city publishes this data as open government data for public reuse. Locations are already shown at block level by the cities. To avoid personal data, the tool leaves out victim and suspect details (age, sex, race). This tool is not affiliated with any city or police department.

Why is New York's data older? NYPD publishes its complaint data quarterly, so the newest NYC records can be a few months old. Days back counts from each city's newest record.

Do the categories match between cities? Each city uses its own offense names. The tool puts them in the same columns but keeps the original names.

Can I add more cities? Suggestions are welcome through the Issues tab.
