Track bills in the UK Parliament from the official UK Parliament Bills API. It covers government bills, private members' bills, Lords bills, hybrid bills and private bills. Each row has the bill ID, short title (and any former title), bill type, originating and current house, current stage (for example second reading, committee stage, report stage or Royal Assent), the next or last sitting date, whether it has become an Act, defeated or withdrawn status, session, and last update time. With details turned on, you also get the long title, summary, sponsors with their party, sponsoring departments and promoters. Each row links to the bill's page on bills.parliament.uk. You can filter by keyword, current house and status (all, active or Acts). No login or API key is needed.

Who is it for?

  • Public affairs, lobbying and policy teams following legislation that affects their sector.
  • Law firms and compliance teams watching for new Acts and amendments.
  • Journalists and researchers following bills through Parliament.
  • Civic tech and newsletter builders who need a clean legislation feed.

How to use it

  1. Optionally enter search terms that appear in the bill title, such as housing, energy or data. Leave empty for all bills.
  2. Choose the current house and status.
  3. Keep Include details on for long titles, summaries and sponsors, set Max results per search term and click Start. The most recently updated bills come first.

Input example

{"searchTerms": ["energy", "planning"], "status": "active", "includeDetails": true, "maxResultsPerSearch": 100}

Output example

{"billId": 4305, "shortTitle": "Building Safety (Remediation of Unsafe Cladding etc) Bill", "billType": "Government Bill", "currentHouse": "Commons", "currentStage": "Committee stage", "nextOrLastSitting": "2026-11-12", "isAct": false, "sponsors": "Angela Rayner (Labour)", "url": "https://bills.parliament.uk/bills/4305"}

How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee per bill returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee. There is no subscription and no separate platform usage cost. For example, 1,000 bills cost about $0.50. Searches with no matches and error rows are not charged. Use Max results per search term or Maximum cost per run to cap your spending.

Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.
